PC games are just so much better too :)
Stardock is one of the greatest right now. If only more developers used their model. Falconoffury
More to the point: if only they would make a game I wanted to play. :/

sins of a solar empire is pretty good i hear. Probably the only one of their games i would look into buying.

I know it's supposed to be good, but I just can't get fired up over space strategy games. Sorry Stardock. :(

i hear ya, the only space stratagy game ive ever really liked was SW:empire at war, even then id only give it a 7.5-8.0

blizzard sucks.. they just suck off of one game for a while, release an expansion to that game then coninue to sit back and collect cash.

So every company who collects cash and makes an Expansion to their Game is bad?.... interesting... you do know sins of a solar empire is gonna have an expansion so they must suck too in your opinion, try to make more sense please.

I'm not a huge fan of Blizzard, but this is a completely wrong statement. They have StarCraft 2 in development as well as several other confirmed projects. I don't really see how working on 2-4 games is sitting back collecting cash.
Besides, by that rationale, most if not all games companies suck, because that's what they all do. They make a game, then they use the funds from that game to make more games. Blizzard may be slow to develop their games, but many companies are. Valve... Relic... none of them are churning games out every year, and we have that fact to thank for the high quality of the games they produce..
Unless you want all companies to adop EA's strategy of releasing the same game every year with +1 on the year in the title? Yeah?
I can think of a few developers making PC exclusives:
Fraxis -Civilization Series
Creative Assembly -Total War series
Bioware -Neverwinter Nights series
Blizzard -Dialo and Star/Warcraft series
I think that PC exclusive FPS's will die out soon, if they're not already dead.

I'd recommend you inhale before clicking this link - you might find yourself wanting to sigh...
Also, Creative Assembly isn't a PC exclusive developer. Sure, their Total War series is PC exclusive (for now), but they have attempted to branch out into console gaming twice since Sega aquired them. In fact, their very first game after Sega took control was a PS2 game.

Woops. I thought we were talking about developers that make PC exclusive games, not PC games exclusively. My mistake.
Yes, I've seen Civilization Revolution, but I don't think it will be a threat to the original series of games. It doesn't seem like something console players would find interesting.
Its a real shame, I want to see more exclusiveness for the PSP and I wouldn't mind if developers made games for consoles that were exclusive.themovi3nut
I'm a PC Gamer, and this statement offends me! ;)
It seems like most of the PC exclusive developers are makers of strategy games, but even many of these companies (like Relic and the Creative Assembly) have made forays into console gaming with non-strategy games.fatshodan
To be honest, as a developer, you'd be insane to develop for PC and not the 360. PC games should remain to be developed but why do they need to be "PC only"? It's true that it could make the game play a little worse or become a little consolised, that's always a possibility. I'll grant that.
I disagree. When one develops a game for more than one platform, one must make sacrifices. It prevents the developer from taking full advantage of what PCs can do. For example, Crytek plainly said that Crysis in its current state would be impossible on the consoles.
The success of Blizzard shows that PC gaming is a hugely under-utilized market.
that is false, if an old p4 with a 6800 can run Crysis, a 360 could easly. However, it is true that when you consider consoles from day one, you are far less tempted to add high and very high PC-only settings.
that statement by Crytek was just to hype the game... but i agree Crysis is ram hungry - even then, more checkpoints would do the trick.

They have something like 6,000,000 subscribers. To say they suck means that 6,000,000 people disagree with you...
On top of that they have some solid classics like Starcraft and Diablo. Anyway name me 3 developers who consistently put out new IPs instead of doing remakes cause for the life of me I can't even think of one.
To the OP does it matter if the PC had 0 exclusives? If we get games ported in a timely fashion with the correct mouse/KB controls I could care less. We always seem to get the bonus of added content to ports so I won't complain about that.
It seems the only problems with exclusives is that somehow you own a lesser system if yours doesn't have that many. It's a problem cultivated mostly by those under a certain age limit :)
Exclusive games are a done deal I think. PC lost Crytek for exclusives but then gained the Offset team as exclusives just a bit after. Hell we're even getting big name console games (Burnout Paradise, Devil May Cry 4) on the PC while CDProjekt is working on a console port for The Witcher.
Exclusive games are slowly coming to an end I believe.
thats happening accross the board really. PS3 loosing previously exclusive IPs to the 360 and vice versa and some traditionally console only games coming to PC (like DMC4 and lost oddessy) and PC games going to console also....every platform is being affected by it. at the end of the day, with the huge costs of developing games and all that, it just makes good business sense. 3rd party exclusives are going to become rarer and rarer. the only exclusives we will see are from first party devs (IE mario will only be on wii, killzone will only be on PS3 and so on).
which brings me to another point? why dont PC manufacturers and the PCGA start building a PC first party? intel have the project offset devs now which could be great for the PC. why dont they get other devs like cd projekt red and crytek and the creative assembly and so on to become PC exclusive devs.

I agree. Halo 3 made $170 million in a single day. Do you think every publisher and developer would simply ignore that?

I should add that Rockstar made $310 million on launch day with GTA IV.

Not in the least. Maybe you misinterpreted what I said. I don't blame any publisher/developer for trying to maximise the sales potential of their products. You have to go where the money is, because that is good business sense. No matter how good you think Product A is, if Product B is selling like hot-cakes, you go with the flow.
That doesn't mean to say I am not sad to see the gradual decline in good quality PC devs and titles. As a long term PC gamer, I find it disheartening we have reached this point at all, but market forces cannot be ignored. There are still PC exclusive titles (such as MMOs), but just not in the genres I prefer. I'd like to support devs like Stardock, but in all honesty Space Strategy games just don't appeal to me.
Sucks to be me, I guess. But I can live with it. :P

Bioware made Mass Effect and Kotor, both of which were timed console exclusives, and creative assembly recently released Viking battle for asgard or somethign like that but it bombed anyways
