i'm sure there'll be a pc version. but i doubt it'll be pc exclusive. it'll probably be bundled together with portal 2 or something and released on the pc, 360, and ps3.

7. Master Chief provides "Comic relief" with a special guest appearance!
8. Press play to start.
9. Uhhh
10. It is estimated to sell 18 million copies and will win 40 game of the year awards, score 9.5 then have that changed to 10
9. It will have a "new" cover system!!
11. Gordon Freeman will now be voiced by none other than funny man Ray Romano!!

Don't forget regenerating health!
Don't forget regenerating health!
BlackAlpha666
I actually liked regenerating health in Crysis, thought it was nice not needing to scour the ground for a "Health Pack", imo one of the stupidest staples of an FPS...
of course exclusive games 4 pc aren't common now, but that's cuz the consoles hardware is still good enough to run the games that standard pc's can run
i think that in a year or 2 more games will be pc exclusive, cuz consoles will be too weak to run them, and that's why pc's are better :)

I think regenerating health is fine when it makes sense. It makes sense when you're wearing a super suit. I mean, are you even taking bullets when you get shot? If you are, you certainly aren't taking them in the traditional manner.
The only legitimate criticism I see against regenerating health is that it's stupidly unrealistic, but in games like Crysis and Halo, it does make sense.

That's interesting, because I'm starting to think the exact opposite. I'm starting to think that developers will still favour console gaming, even with its limited tech. Hell, why build an advanced engine that only runs on PC (and only a relatively small percentage of PCs) and get a million sales when you can use an archaic engine that runs on console and PC and get four or five times that many sales?
I mean, look at Valve and Source, then look at Crytek and CryEngine 2. Older = larger playerbase = more money.
And it's all about the money.
Now that Crytek has gone multiplatform, I bet their next engine is nowhere near as jawdropping as Cry 2 was (relatively speaking), and I bet Source 2 will look no better (or not much better) than games like Project Origin.
I think regenerating health is fine when it makes sense.

Heh, I didn't even remember that S.T.A.L.K.E.R had health regeneration. Is that naturally, or do you need an artefact?
If it's natural, I think it's understandable from a gameplay perspective, but still a stupid computer gamey contrivance and I don't like it. If it's at least vaguely explained somehow (radioactive craziness or whatever) then I'd be okay with it.
I just like things to make sense, but I acknowledge that health is not something that will ever make much sense most of the time. Running over health packs is just as crazy.

I'm pretty sure its natural. But the artifacts make it regenerate faster. Though Stalker also has health packs and badges as you know.
Its a bit annoying how you can die from bullet wounds but your enemies can take a shotgun blast and not flinch...seriously...
lol, i think this is a glitch: when your stamina is at its lowest it doesn't recharge. But if you hit your inventory key then exit it the stamina goes right back to half way then you can do it again. Did you know that!?

i don't think stalker has a regen system. it's just bandages and med kits and food, as far as i remember.

i've never seen an enemy take a full shotgun blast and survive.

It does. I was just playing it a few hours ago. If you wait long enough your health regenerates. It is not as quick as COD2
STALKER vanilla has regen (many mods turn this off or reduce it by a factor of 100). The thing is that it takes like 10 minutes for the health to regenerate so it's completely different from Halo, COD4 and Crysis.
If you are really desperate, you can hide in a corner for 10 minutes.

ah. i see. i guess i never waited for 10 minutes (as BlackAlpha666 mentioned) to see if it would regenerate...
i think BL's at least partially right - the artifacts make a big difference to how much damage etc you take - not sure if they help you regen thoughjfsebastianII
There are artifacts that speed up the regeneration by factors of up to like 900%. In turn they reduce the damage resistance against certain damage types.

and a losey multiplayerI'll mention what hasn't been already. Not all of these will necessarily be "big hits," but they're all PC-exclusive.
Alliance: The Silent War
Cryostasis
Darkest of Days
DUSK-12
Enemy in Sight
Exodus from Earth
Natural Selection 2
Necrovision
Scorpion
The Crossing
The Hunt
Zeno Clash
There you go. More PC-exclusive FPS's than you would expect, right? You just have to look for them, that's all. I don't feel like linking to them, you'll have to look them up.
Alliance: The Silent War and Enemy in Sight I believe have been cancelled.

"The game has been put on hiatus as the developing company Windward Mark Interactive has begun some work with Linden Lab on their game Second Life, Second Life has now consumed the team leaving Alliance unfinished, though they have stated that it is not canceled."
Unfortunately, I was wrong, it's not PC exclusive (anymore). Oh well.
Wikipedia doesn't say anything about any development issues with Enemy in Sight, and googling around turns up nothing, as well.

Well, maybe they will get back to it - but generally when a project is shelved, it ends up silently getting cancelled.

There was a single post in the game's forum from someone about it who said the developer went under. I don't know if that was legitimate - but all the posts in that forum seem to be gone now anyway. I won't hold my breath for this title anyway, and scratched it from my watch list.

Awesome I can't wait to play it :)
piracy almost killed pc gaming....so dont expect PC exclusive games....all r multiplatform nowadays...except some strategy games...and few sims games :lol:tjdeep_2007
piracy has always been a downfall for PC games. In no way has PC gaming died, it has been hurt but it will go back to normal if people become smart and start using programs such as steam to buy their games. Dont expect PC exclusive games? it is probly the easiest platform to create games on, its actually what games ARE made on.

Yes, games are made on PCs. However, more and more developers are embracing multi-platform development, so there are less and less PC exclusives. There probably will be PC exclusives in the future, but I doubt they will be coming from well known long-standing development studios, ie, they will not be the high profile AAA titles, so their quality is not assured.
Frankly that is what concerns me: the quality of future titles on PC. You can say that PC isn't dying if you still get 100 games a year on the platform, for example, but if 95% of those exclusive titles end up being mediocre bug-ridden messes, it doesn't really leave you with a great deal to play. There will undoubtedly be gems like STALKER and The Witcher, but even those developers are now looking at how to get their games onto consoles.
The whole industry is in a state of flux at the moment, and what concerns me is what the shape will be when everything settles down. That's assuming it does settle down.
