Let's talk about the different unique features that most of the PC games have. Some features are wonderful, others are very useful and some are just for fancy stuff. Let me give you an example. In Rise of Nations, the player can "pause" the game wherein the player can still issue orders or command his/her units and structures. It is as if it was a turn-based strategy game. With its unique feature the RTS game can also be a temporary TBS game!! It is very useful during in times of handling so much of your own men. You can think twice or thrice before deciding without compromising time against AIs. Well, that's my example.

Let us here your thoughts...

The only things keeping the PC alive on the gaming front are the mouse and keyboard, it's supreme number crunching resulting into better AI, the video cards, and Internet Service / multiplayer enhancements.

we also get the best physical systems to. like seriously gimme some led tights on watercooling tubes inside an antec 1200 anyday over the boring exterior of a wii, 360 or ps3 ANYDAY of the week. (btw an antec 900 thats been gutted of all but a psu can act as a decent cooler for drinks when your done with it)

well, the PC has several things that makes it worthwhile.

1st of, it has options for control types with hundreds of buttens/wheels, and whatever may enhance the experience.

2nd unlike consoles, pc gamers are allowed to tweak, change and alter gameplay experience, as seen in mods, but also in overhauls and additions.

3rd the pc platform enjoys a great deal more connectivity then the consoles, there exists games with mindblowing numbers of players, concoles are beginning to make strides for that, but as of now no experiences matches.

4th pc games often get quite a bit of free content from alot of the devs, altho the dreaded "dlc" trend has kicked in, still it is more likely that extra stuff gets droppedin for free on a pc.

1. Controls - Not only can you use M+KB but the pc is compatible with any controller so if you wan't to play with pretty graphics and your comftable with a controller then this is one advantage

2. Better Graphics

3. Mods - Mods help a game stay alive for a looong time, or they can be new games as well (CS started as a mod).

4. Customizable Graphics - If your annoyed with certain graphical features (like motoion blur), you can turn it off.

Just about everything I was going to say has been covered, but I'll reiterate regardless. -Mods. Because of these, games like Unreal Tournament, Half-Life, and countless others have vastly enhanced replay value. You might get two, three, five, ten, or even more games for the price of one with all the Total Conversions floating about! Or, if you just want to have a new gametype, a few more weapons and vehicles, some new maps, or some gameplay changes (say, Matrix-style bullet time and wallrunning), that's not out of the question either. -Controls. Most people think of just the keyboard and mouse being far better suited to FPSs and RTSs, along with gamepads for those games that play better that way, but it goes so much farther than that. There are full-blown racing wheels, entire flight stick/throttle/rudder pedals sets, head-tracking devices, and in some cases, ENTIRE COCKPITS THAT MAY EVEN HAVE MOTION PLATFORMS that are available to the PC gamer. Sure, the consoles have racing wheels and HOTAS covered, but I still have yet to see a console feature something like TrackIR for head-tracking. (The Wii could do it by taking the Johnny Chung Lee route of turning a Wiimote into a TrackIR, and the Xbox 360 might be able to pull it off with the Project Natal camera, but nobody's bothered to actually implement it yet.) -Tweakable graphics. Not satisfied with the quality? Crank it up! Framerate too choppy? Dial it down? Stock graphics not good enough? Install a community-made model and/or texture pack! (That last one also ties into mods.)

Since mods, KB/M, graphics, etc were already mentioned I'll say Steam. I for one love steam. It has the awesomest deals ever! Bioshock for $5, TF2 for $10, the list goes on and on.

Customization and OPTIONS.. I have lost count on games such as the RTS genre (I AM LOOKING AT YOU RELIC).. Where great games could be one of the best of all time, if their multiplayer had more options.. A easy to use map editor, more game modes and unique mechanics.. Relic as stated earlier is one of the examples, they have made some of the best rts's imo.. But unfortunately some of the greats like Homeworld series, online was just complete suckage.. It was bare bones skirmish, where very little maps were produced, as well as simple game play modes.. People need to take notes from games like Starcraft which to this day has one of the largest online communities due to the easy to use map editior, the countless official maps they have made, the infinite game modes they have created (both official ones from FFA, capture the flag etc etc, to use map settigns which has created some of the best mini games ever).. All with a easy download feature when you join the game.... Another large example was my purchase of Street Fighter 4 for the PS3.. It is indeed coming out for the PC as well.. But to me I was completely angry at the championship pack.. In the end the game lacks modes.. A typical arcade mode and a vs's mode (both online and offline).. Where is the real tournmanet modes? Where is other unique modes like possibly team battles etc etc? The game is just lacking in options and modes.. Times like that I wish they took notes from games like Super Smash Brothers Brawl which has one of the most extensive array of options and game modes I have ever seen for a fighting game as well as a overall game in general.

The best things about PC gaming would be the quick save feature, the controls and the graphics.

Quick saving opens whole new opportunities for experimentation! Like for instance, when you complete a segment where you battle a group of enemies, at the end of which you may think that using a different weapon or strategy would have saved you ammo and health, no worries! Just quickload to before the battle and try it out! Also helps you prepare for ambushes when you die the first time!! xD

In the case of controls, almost everyone knows that mouse and keyboard provide more control and precision over gamepads...it's the way FPSs, RTSs and RPGs were meant to be played!!

Finally the graphics.. wow I haven't seen any console come up with visuals even close to what we see on PCs today. Greater than HD resolutions, anti-aliasing, anisotropic filtering...and so much more. It's simply beautiful.
