No I haven't experienced that. I have been called PC elitist a couple of times for simply mentioning that I prefer a certain game on PC, but they haven't made fun of me.

Have you ever heard those ps3 and xbox gamers talking about the latest game and then when you join in with the conversation, they ask what you played the game on when you tell them that you have played in on the PC they make fun of you. has anyone experienced that? It really annoys me because my pc in comparison to the ps3 is twice as good.

Not in RL but you get bashed around the Internet all the time.
Usually you get automatic fall back responses like exaggerations of PC cost, difficulty and piracy. Essentially they are creating justifications as to why they wouldn't want to be on PC, probably in an effort to negate any advantages it has over consoles; so they can feel happier on their cheaper system.
Yes, I hate that... That's why I avoid being in their threads :D But I'm proud of being PC gamer in the same time... There is no better controler device than a keyboad + mouse. Plus they can very hardly play RTS games with a joypad :) And they can't mod their games or listen music in the same time, while playing. So basically - we totally own! Now the problems are coming from weak hardware, but at least we enjoy better graphics most of the cases.
PC Gamers - reunite in order to defeat the consoles monopoly!
because my pc is custom built as well, they think that pc gamers are the neeks/geeks/nerds or whatever you like to call them

yes, because as well know its perfectly sociallyacceptable for a PS3 gamer to sit next to his friend and play Resistance2 for six hours.
But then when a PC gamer goes and plays a game with hundreds of other gamers, its considered nerd. We are shutins, freaks, nerds, lack social skills.
Honestly, I am proud to be a PC Gamer and, while I am grounded, I am an elitists. And for good reason; consoles are killing gaming. The only issue is that consolites dont know it. Allow me to paraphrase a now-banned, yet sage, user:
Imagine developers are chocolate makers. Now, they make a great chocolate enjoyed by a few. What if these beloved chocolatiers made, instead of chocolate, started selling fecal matter suddenly. And worse yet, what if the uneducated masses enjoyed it so much they ate it up. Would you not want to scream out to them about what chocolate used to be?
Embrace it, man, and simply say "Thanks!" when they next call you a nerd. They are the real fools, and imo it is better to be an illuminated nerd than an ignorant conformist.
All my friends play xbox. When they heard i dont want to anymore and i feel like upgrading my computer and playing that they were mad. Even when they come over... they refuse to use the mouse and go ahead and try to play an FPS with the 360 controller!
Nerd today is the norm tomorrow.
Once upon a time anyone who used the Internet was automatically a nerd  Basically they make fun of it until it is accessible enough for them, then it's suddenly cool.
I agree with you, Kh1ndjal, they miss a lot of fun, that's for sure. I ain't talkin about WoW, but all this console story. It'sgood for single casual gaimng. You can't be a hardcore gamer and not play on PC. Add this that on a console you will never have so fast reactions as on PC (mainly because of the lack of mouse and your finger tips hurt form pushing the analog stick forward). I don't say they are bad for gaming, but... notthat good as PCs. You know, I also have some consoles besides the PC. I use them just to pass some cheap single player game (maybe play 1 on 1 with a friend) and that's it. Although they look so shiny and next-gen, they are very far from the PC game feeling. So they collect dust on my desk, waiting for guests to play with.
I gave a lot of money for these and I though I'm gonna eventually get to understand those console gamers and their feeling. Not even a bit from what we have on the PC, I still play on my PC as much as I did before and the consoles are... If I get bored or my PC break down
Cheers!
Sorry but this needs to be said. (no offence ment) But you are all as bad as each other. Seriously, pc gamers talk down on console gamers and vice versa.. which in my book is just plain sad. You play games for the sake of playing games, makes no difference what platform. Also to those who say Console gaming is killing Games, No it is not. What is killing games (if you can even say that) is the fact that they have become more mainstream.. Easier less complicated games sell nowadays so developers will focus on that (Don't kid yourselfs, just as many of which sell on pc also.). It isn't helped by the fact also that alot of gamers today will just roll over on there backs at any change made by a company, even if it means it will take away from the game. MW2 is a great example.. there are still many 'PC gamers' willing to accept it without mod support and other PC perks.
/rant.
My children play box games. I play PC games.SnorblyExactely! I'm not saying I never play console games, I just prefer PC gaming.
no, but i've had a few 'wow, you can play games on pc.'. to be fair, i think they meant 'wow, you can play good/great/mainstream/AAA games on PC?'. i usually say 'yes' then say 'idiot' under my breath.
PC can't match adventurethe_dude77It's funny because the PC has still the most and the best adventure games of any plataform.
yeah i get bothered if i play Lost Planet Colonies Edition against xbox people on live. They lose to my mouse and keyboard and say PC player have no skill. Its funny how i hear on other places like youtube or in gamespot that controller works well for shooters.
The only time I see people getting ridiculous is in the system wars section. I generally don't go there. I own a 360, PS3, and recently built a PC. Over the years I have bounced between consoles and PC. The biggest reason I play on PC is because I am a bit of a graphics whore. I actually enjoy playing games with a controller and on my HDTV more than sitting at a monitor. Most of my PC games I play with my 360 controller if it supports it. Therealways seem to be mobs of PC elitests that think playing PC shooters with a controller is a waste of time. For me it is the reason I bounced back to PC gaming recently. I know I am not as precises with the controller, but I'd rather kick back in my recliner and blast away in crysis on a controller.

thre you go! XDI always get the lulz when console d00dz call pc gamers nerds/geeks/losers etc, yet they sit on the couch playing Halo: Combat Devolved and Cod4: Mediocre Warfare for 8 hours a day. Just ignore them. You could list all of the many reasons why pc gaming is superior but it'd be like the following Family Guy clip:
