Hey guys im building a new pc sometime next year with a 1000 dollar budget, but im not really interested in the selection of games, i mean im not into blizzard, Im looking foward to crysis 2, mass effect 2, and modern warfare 2 but I have a ps3 and 2 of those games are on it(maybe mass effect 2 in the future hopefully), but it seems as if consoles are getting better exclusives at the moment(ps3 and 360), PC gaming is not dying, but I have an honest opinion that pc gaming has had a lack of quality games in the last few years compared to consoles. Anyone agree with me(NOT A FLAME THREAD JUST A DISCUSSION)

Why wouldn't you buy mass effect 2, crysis 2, and modern warfare 2 for pc? The pc version will have better graphics, mods, etc. I mean if you plan on buying games that are both on ps3 and pc but buy it for ps3 don't even build a computer -_-

It was the beginning of this year that I kinda started to switch over to PC gaming, but now that you mention it... I guess your kinda right. However I'd much rather get games for PC if possible. Not because they look better, that's the last thing I really care about, it's mainly that I like using a mouse and keyboard as opposed to a controller. But if you're really questioning I'd just wait and see what happens, maybe something better will pop up to spend your money on.

While two of the games you listed are on PS3 I would still buy them on PC. I don't know about you but I detest the gamepad for anything but sports games and a handful of games that just work better with a gamepad. While I don't have 2010's roster in front of me I can tell you that so far this gen PC has had more exclusives than any one console. If you want exclusives then PC is the platform for you. We may have our dry periods, the last few months being one of them, but overall PC usually gets more. PC also usually gets the better end of multiplats with more control options, better graphics, and the addition of mods all adding to the PC version usually being better.

Yea once you get a decent gaming PC there is absolutely zero practical reason to go back to consoles (excludng console exclusives, i.e. Metal Gear Solid, etc).

I mean, I'll give you the fact that playing co-op on your couch with a good friend is nice and your selection of sports games is great (though the quality is dropping each year for the last ten years), but outside of that there just really is no reason to do it.

Meh. You know you're a PC Gamer when you enjoy a game that scored a 6.0 more than console games that scored 9.0+.

well the point i was making was that consoles exclusives have been getting great reviews the past 3 years while pc games havent delivered the AAA games, which is true and I am wondering when PC games can have more to brag about than just graphics

Well, you didn't even list any console exclusives, in fact all the games you listed are vastly better on PC. PC probably does have fewer big name exclusives than it used to, but so do consoles. If there are console exclusives you are looking forward to and no pc exclusives, sounds like you could save an easy $1000. Although even if PC had no exclusives it is still a better choice do to having a better default control setup, better graphics, and better performance.

Almost the entire "Online Massively Multiplayer" game genre is PC exclusive.

 I wouldn't be surprised if, eventually, the only platform exclusive developers are Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo.

However,

Real time strategy (RTS) games are better when played with a mouse and keyboard. There are some controller layouts that have helped the RTS genre on consoles, but they simply don't compare to the accuracy concerning camera movement on a mouse and the speed of keyboard shortcuts (as opposed to visual menus on consoles). There are some quality PC exclusives in this genre too such as Dawn of War, Command & Conquer, and World in Conflict. Although Tom Clancy's EndWar was a awesome idea that "simply" lacked complexity.

Mods and indie games are the main attraction for me.
