Guys I was just curious how many of you game on a Desktop or on a Laptop? I just got a new laptop and it can run all the newest titles on high settings. I realize that I will never be able to max out the newest games, but there just seems to be something nice and convienient to be able to game anywhere, anytime! Your thoughts?

99% of laptops aren't meant for gaming, it's a painful experience.

I had on older laptop that was pretty decent for gaming back when it came out. Now I mostly game on my PC and PS3. I agree though, sometimes I'd like to play games on the go. But I have an iPod touch for that

Most people here will tell you that laptops aren't for gaming... and I'm one of those people.

It depends on what games you mean, Sims, Age Of empires, Sim City have always been good on a laptop but FPS will never be the same on a laptop just the screen size would ruin it for me.

I once had a gaming laptop. Let me tell you; it was a pain in the arse. First off, since it is called a "Laptop" I would put it on top of my lap. My laps would burn up, due to heat. Now a days; I use a Gaming Desktop. Love it =D. When I am away from home, I use my laptop (not the same one as above) for some indie games and older games. If I want smaller games then those; I just use my Android phone =D

only advantage laptop has is portability, and if gamers want that, they can get a DS/PSP/ect

Desktop's are probably better for gaming but I like laptops because you can take them about on the train etc...

Thanks for the comments guys. Yeah, I got the laptop more out of need than anything else. My desktop while not a pure gaming rig is decent, but I wanted a second computer for our house and didn't really have a spot for another desktop, so I went with the laptop. I dont have any problems enjoying games like ME2, SC2, Half Life 2 and NBA 2K11 on my laptop and even Crysis 2 plays and runs like a champ. However, when I try to play a game that is large in scope like BFBC 2, the small screen on the laptop definitely is a factor.

Desktops. I dislike the keyboards on most laptops and I don't find mobility worth the price. I also hate how hot they are, and that they are impossible to upgrade.

Desktop... I have only owned one laptop, after I broke it I never got a new one and probably wont ever get one. There's just no need for them well in my opinion anyway.

Desktop because you get more bang for your buck compared to a laptop and is easily upgradable when you need more power without having to buy a whole new.

It really depends if you know what you're getting into and if you know what titles you want to play specifically.

I always have some older games (Warcraft 3, Torchlight, Morrowind etc) loaded on my laptop. I stick to my desktop for the newer stuff.

Desktop. No contest. Twice the performance at half the price, and far easier to upgrade. My notebook is for note-taking and general computer use, nothing really system-intensive. I only play a select few games on my HP 2730p, though the Intel GMA 4500MHD is part of the reason. I could mitigate it with an NVIDIA Optimus/DIY ViDock setup if I wanted to, but I'll wait for that GameString Adrenalin service to enter open beta and let me see if it works where StreamMyGame won't. (This way, I don't need to buy any additional hardware; as long as both of my systems have a good Internet connection, I can harness the desktop's power without being right in front of it.)

Depends. If your laptop is powerful enough, then have at it. If you on the go, then a laptop is basically your only option. I have yet to buy a laptop for gaming but once Diablo III comes out I will. I love desktop gaming and even prefer to watch all my movies and shows on my desktop now, so that gets my vote.
