Yes, it's true. I can name a total of 3 "coming soon" games that are PC exclusives. That is absolutely pathetic. I'm not trolling. I love PC games/gaming and will never buy another console. I'm just hoping that someone will just have to prove me wrong on this.d-rtyboy
This year:
Stil to come
Pc gaming is dead? WTH are you talking about? I could go ahead and start naming all the multiplatforms that released this year as well but its probably pointless for you.. Simply put.. Pc has a HUGE list of games.
If they stopped making PC games tomorrow, I would still be playing PC games until the day I die. There's a vast back catalogue of PC games out there, and I still have about a hundred games in my collection I haven't finished yet. I'm good for the next few years.
As for the 'future', it's changing, maybe in ways that some of us don't really like, and maybe can't accept. The general trend now seems to be to push all gaming online - doesn't matter what it is, the publishers want increasing control over how and when and where you play your games. First step was online activation, now they're pushing 'always connected' DRM (not just UbiSoft, but now BlizziVision, and it looks like EA is going down the same road), and you have services like OnLive pushing hard to become the norm, along with more 'games in browsers' via WebGL and now Flash. Expect lots of others to follow suit, especially with the Free-To-Play model becoming more established.
And of course when Windows 8 arrives, you'll basically be turning your PC into an Xbox console, with Xbox Live games and all that jazz. Don't think I'm a hater, though, because I have an Xbox, and I play games on it.
A lot of people still view 'Steam' as their saviour in all this - but you have to ask how long Steam can remain a viable service if LOTS of publishers suddenly start pushing their own download service/client software, and maybe give Valve the cold shoulder. EA and BlizziVision seem to be pushing hard for that, and love them or hate them, they are the heavyweights in the gaming industry, and if they can get people to continue buying games using their models - then inevitably, their landslide will take much of the rest of the industry with them. Those that resist will probably be bought out, chewed up and spat out - and we all know EA has a long history of doing just that. How many rival publishers/studios have they killed over the years? I've lost count.
Because we're PC gamers, we'll moan and gripe about it all, as we usually do...but in the end, we'll give into it, like we always do, because we can't NOT play that great looking game that's just been announced, no matter what crap comes with it in the package.
"But what about the 'Indies'?" I hear you cry. Well, yes, there are a lot of Indie games out there, some good, most bad (much like the rest of the industry), but I don't think you'll find that many Indie games that really push your PC hardware.
Is PC gaming dying? Emphatically not. But it is changing in major ways - and how you handle those changes is up to you.

And this is where the thread should end haha, nice one.
Exactly, Diablo 3 is the only big name game coming out in the near future that is PC only. We used to get Free Space, Oni, Baldurs Gate, Far Cry, FEAR, etc, etc. But now only lip service. All we mostly get are console games on our PC. DNF, RAGE, Dead Island, etc.

X: Rebirth is coming out this year (since you mentioned Free Space). Guild Wars 2 (not this year). Also, it's not like consoles get a lot of exclusives anyway. And for multi-platform games like Skyrim, PC still wins out since mods will fix and enhance any shortcomings brought on upon by the limitations of consoles. Mods, dedicated servers, graphics, control. Tons of indie devs making good, innovative games for PC. I have an Xbox 360 and a Wii, and the Wii is used for Netflix, and the Xbox isn't used much at all. I don't think consoles are bad, I just generally enjoy games on PC more, and a lot of other people do, too.
There are enough of us to be quite profitable for companies who choose to make good PC games, ports or not.

I've come to inform you that not everyone can be part of the Pc gaming master race. We understand that you may be angry about it, but hey, we can't all be winners.
