I hate 360 and PS3 bcause PC has games I LIKE,they DON'T,though the only games out of those i have even a bit of interest in is Crysis, otherwise i'm a Total War fanboy.

But the OP has dismissed PC Gaming 'Dying' as a unfunny joke made up by console fanboys.

It's not by accident. The industry plans most good games to come out in the 2 or 3 months before the holidays.

Last year was the year of PS3/Wii. The year before that was the year of 360. Not only did the game makers put all their effort into those platforms the past 2 years for their debut but they alsowouldn't want to come out with a really hot PC title during those times to steel the thunder / attention away for those launches.

So it only makes sense that they waited to launch all the good PC titles until now. Because Vista and DX10 is finally out. This being a good PC year is by design and has been in the works for years.

No doubt about that!

For all the kids that hyped consoles as next-gen, PC is really the future for games! Just take a look at Crysis. We don't need a stinky blu-ray to get high-def, high quality games.

Yeah, this has been a great year. But last year was pretty weak, as was the year before that. How will 2008 stack up? It's actually looking like a pretty hot year for PCs -assuming we don't get spanked with delays - withgames like FarCry 2, Assassin's Creed and Spore to name just a few hitting PC shelves in '08.

But all systems - and most especially the PC - experience peaks and troughs. Yeah, this has been a great year - and the awesome titles have been hitting like machinegun fire (as someone above said, not by coincidence), but how long before we hit another dry spell of two months or six months or eight months?

I've been having great fun these last eight weeks, but after Crysis and a couple other of the games releasing dangerously close to christmas, I'm wondering how long it'll be before another game comes around that's worth buying...

Don't want to seem like Buzz Killington but while the console gamers are getting stuff like Mass Effect and GTA4, we may well find ourselves thumbing through June and July on our calendars, sighing despondently...

Well, instead of sighing and moaning (like some people do on these forums) get a 360 or PS3, they are pretty cheap right now anyway... Unless you want to wait for a port of those games, which takes forever imo. They are probably best played with a gamepad anyway.

But yeah, I'm overwhelmed by all the games coming out right now. I'm almost a little tired of gaming, too much to play, too little time and exams coming up in a month...

Seriously, people are hardcore if they are able to play through all the games mentioned above. It has not been that long since they were released... Especially the Witcher and Hellgate. Those games take time to play through.

My 360 has been collecting dust since i bought my new GPU. ME, GTA and a couple other games will make it interesting again soon enough though.

I like how some of you are making lists of all the mulit platform games that got the same ratings as the consoles did. All of them COD 4, Bioshock, Half Life, etc, all rated the same. The only thing I can see going for PC gamers is Crysis which does look good, I might even pick it up sooner or later.

But saying PC is the gaming system of the year when all you are basing it off of games already realeased or are being released on the consoles, with probably the same exact score is funny to me. Yeah you got Crysis but we get Mass Effect and personally after playing a rediculous amount of shooters that have been released over the last year, I am actaully looking forward to a solid RPG experience like Knights of the old Republic.

Bombed420

True, but with a GTX and a 1920x1200 monitor, with every setting on max, you can understand why I prefer PC-versions of those games. + a mouse is better for shooters. Yeah, yeah, gfx whore...

I really don't understand how you can call 400 euro's cheap, which is the price many europeans have to pay for the so called "next gen" consoles.

I live in Norway and we have insane prices here, I actually think 400 euros is pretty cheap for a ps3. And I think it's cheap compared to what my 8800 GTX (one PC-part!) costs.

Too late, Mr. Buzz kill.

Anyway, i'll be a little more optomistic. 2008 is shaping up to be a mighty fine year. Starcraft 2, warhammer online, farcry2 are just three of many games i'm really looking forward to next year. With that said, I do realize that whatever system you prefer play on, they all have dry spells.

The wonderful thing abotu the PC is...and I think everyone will agree with me...PC games have a WAAAAY longer life span than console games. Mods, conversions, expansion packs, maps, hassle/payment free online play just some of the reasons games like the original half-life still have hundreds of thousands of regular users while games like gears of war and halo just kinda die out after awhile.

Compare tf2 on the xbox to the pc. My friend got so bored with the xbox version he bought it for the pc after seeing the crazy amount of new maps I had on my computer.

So bring on the dry spell! The great thing about PC games is that you can teach our old dogs new tricks!

Yeah I respect that but so many PC fans are so bent about dissing console games. I mean I can see comparing last gen to PC, but the xbox360, PS3 are both solid machines. Yeah so a PC can pump out a clearer image, that doesn't mean the consoles are **** I own both, a good PC and a 360 and I choose the 360 over the PC. I guess It just comes down to me getting tired in my computer chair.

Just like so many console gamers are SO bent on dissing PC games/gamers (not talking about you specifically).

Anyway, it is MY opinion that PC is and will always be the best gaming platform. Consoles have cutting edge technology only at the moment of release, while a computer can always have cutting edge through upgrades... That doesnt apply as easily as it sounds, since many players dont have the money to upgrade their rigs constantly.

The only advantage that I see in console games is that everygame you get, is a game you will be able to play. That just doesnt happen with PC's.But thats the price we have to pay for being PC gamers. Other than that, PC beats consoles in every other aspect.
