Hi i'm deciding on upgrading my current Pc rig and wanted to ask you guys for some opinions or tips you might be able to give me.

My current setup is:

Asus P5b Mobo

E6600 C2d

Nvidia 7950GT (old old old!!!!)

Kingston 600mhz 3g Ram ( damn old!)

Lg DVD

1 80gig Hdd seagate

1 250 Lacie external Hdd

1 160 gb seagete hdd

Samsung t240 LCD

Now, my most vulnerable part is the grfx card. i was thinking of getting something ranging from a gtx260 to a gtx280, or do you suggest passing on to Ati?

I'm also opting for 3gb 1333mhz Ram.

BluRay player

and to finally overclock my Cpu.

What do you guys think? Should i wait for DX11 cards to come out and sit tight, maybe start doing the rest and save the card for last?

Heck going to a 9800GTX or GTS 250 would be a big upgrade. But the main issue is your psu most likely, because you will need more juice to run a better card. And I doubt your motherboard supports more then DDR 2 800+. This is what I would upgrade right now is psu and cpu cooler, and ram,

You should be able to fit a GTS 250 on there. Which is a 9800GTX+ that is smaller and more energy efficient.

And if you can wait for the Dx11 cards then do so, but if you cant I wouldnt spend more then $125 on a gpu right now.

You can pick a 4850 for $95 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102824

And a GTS 250 for unfer $125 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150357

O you have a Freezer 7, then your ok for OC'ing, What 550w psu do you have? what are the total A on the 12v rail/s? if you have 25A or more you should be alright with a GTS 250.

Yeah, just checked 25A...

So you suggest a Gts250, is that huge of a difference from the 4850?

As others have said,a GTS 250 or HD4850 will be a huge upgrade for you. I'm not certain but I doubt your motherboard supports 1333MHz RAM, you would probably be better off just buying some cheap DDR2 800 RAM, as I assume that will be the maximum speed (though they may be down clocked to 600MHz). 4GB should be enough if you are running a 64bit operating system, if not then just stick with 2GB in dual channel mode.
