Analyst: PC Has Surpassed Console in Terms of Revenue

"The big difference is that consoles are now the luxury item and PCs are the necessity. Just a few years ago the reverse was true." Anyone surprised? What do you guys think?

That's what I see at least, if this will go on, I'm getting a console.

Makes sense. Hell think of the online mmo market in china, and the amount they spend on micro transactions.

I am also thinking about getting a console. But not for bad ports, just to play the games that they are holding as hostages. lol

Well that's the positive side of getting a console - the exclusive games.

Why am I not surprised?

Where do I see numbers to support this? Or suppose this is just an "educated" guess? If this is true its likely because of simple game apps and not because of AAA titles which are the epitome of moving gaming forward. PC gamers used to be all about cutting edge but slowly but surely they are becoming second fiddle to consoles and mobile gaming.

Just take a look at Elder Scrolls Online and H1Z1 which are both MMOs which used to be pretty much exclusive to the PC/MAC market. As we move forward you are now seeing these games being developed for the Console and ported back to the PC.

Heck even look at games like COD and Battlefield which used to be big PC games but slowly have been eaten up by the consoles and spit back out in the direction of the PC. The only thing I can think of now that is PC/MAC exclusive is strategy based games and even those are now starting to see more light on the tablet markets like IPAD and Android.

What a nice way to talk about exclusives... I will most likely get a console or two for the same reason... Waiting for slim versions though. Should be cheaper, solved a few problems and have a good bunch of exclusives available already :D
