Hi my pc is lagging when im on the desktop its really slow when i move the mouse its not smooth it dissapears and then reappears at the otha side of screen

i think it is a GFX card problem i have a 4890 so it cant be graphics problem ive had it for 4 months never had this problem before

when i try to shut my pc down when its lagging it says AMD Capturing window is preventing your pc from shutting down what does this mean?

could it be a heat problem?

when i do test with CCC it says its at 75C which is fine unless it isn't reading temps right?

any help would be great thanks.

In CCC you can change the fan speed, if its not at 60%, try it at 60%, push it to 80% if possible, see what temps are like there, for the AMD program thing, you could go into the search box, type in "msconfig", go to services, tick hide MS services and see what AMD or ATi services are running, and report back, another thing you could check under the startup tab to see what starts up on Logon.

Hey was just wondering if this ever got resolved because I'm suffering from the same problem. What's the cause, any way I can fix it, does the gfx card need replacing?

I just got it fixed, if you're still having problems and you've possibly installed a ned graphics card or updated your drivers is it might have screwed around with your refresh rate so change knock that back up through your display>advanced>monitor settings. I still had some trouble with my older games even after sorting that out so I just rolled back my driver update and everything's working fine now. Hope this helps =)
