ENB mods don't add anything, textures or something else, they just change lighting, shadows, and play with effects.

And that's the brilliance, a completely better looking game with a 100 kb file.

Game looks great, doesn't need a graphics mod, besides, you shouldn't be playing the game for its graphics.

Haven't played it yet, but does it really look as bad as the comparison shots from those videos or did he turn it down to make his mod look better?

The lighting is obviously better.

The SSAO is obviously better.

The reflections make sense on some floor/wall types, and in those it looks phenomenal. But on other surfaces it doesn't make sense, hopefully the mod can be tweaked.

Really don't understands the people saying it looks worse. That's just ridiculous.

who cares about his hair? have you seen the other's NPCs hair? its as if they freeze it with below 0 temps, stiff as a rock. btw I dont like this mod, am I the only one who actually appreciates the sepia art style? they just didnt put it there to say "uhh shiny orange and yellow combinations!" its because the devs wanted to evocate an "antique" feeling in the deus ex universe

Nothing ridiculous about not liking a complete change of how the atmosphere and overall art style was intended, especially when such a mod makes absolutely every surface shiny, it does more harm than good, but anyway I'm biased to this whole ENB series mods, imo they're terrible, they completely ruin games, yes I don't like even the GTA IV mod and its various alterations like ICEnhance, it's good to look at, but I always prefer the original look that has a perfect atmosphere for the game.

The floors look like they've been waxed over about a hundred times, the brightness of the lighting also kills the mood of the game and makes eveyrthing look like it's under flood lights on a football pitch. Just my opinion of course.

It's not brown, and that yellow/orange makes it unique, without that unique factor and a different atmosphere created by that, it's just "one of those games" no matter how good it is, it's DE, not ME or AC. It's also the same game, if you think original is washed then this is washed too, a surface being glossy and washed is just as washed as before, anyway as I said I really don't care, this is what Boris wants the game to look like, not how it's supposed to look, the developers went for certain things and I play it for those reasons. Observe Original GTA IV, this is how I played and loved it: Modified, way better looking but absolutely terrible, how I'll NEVER play it: It's nice to have options for those that care, but I don't, never did, game as intended = more fun, than better looking game feeling out of place.

^ You realize there's thousands of diffrent configurations, that screen you posted is just a bad example. If you think a floor being a bit shiny (which is supposed to be shiny and looks prettier) is such a problem then you can easily tweak it in enbseries.ini

It's not just the floor, it's everything, I don't prefer any of the "enhancements" he made and no, that's one of the best examples because it's a screenshot from the best config by far.

I don't know how anyone prefers the original look. I mean its still the same gameplay just now with updated graphics to look more on par with the rest of todays games. And it takes away that over use of gold and makes it more realistic

The gold look was the entire futuristic setting behind it in trying to capture the same kind of movie magic like Blade Runner had.. And I am sorry more realistic?

Yes I understand the reasoning behind it but they used it to such an extent that every scene and area was overly saturated with it. Every area almost looked the same cos of it. I meant realistic in terms of that its more realistic in comparison to the gold look. It brings more natural colours to some things.Look at the comparison screens above my post and tell me which screen has more true to life colours? Not which looks like real life but which is moreakin to real colours

I hate it when they use too much colorfilters in movies and videogames.

Only acceptable filter imo was greenfilter in Matrix.

bladerunner had too much blue en deus ex hr too much orange.

but hey , some like it and some do NOT.

Luckily for pc owners we can change it now thanx to enb-mod :)

I liked it in the beginning to establish a colour scheme and an art direction/motif for the game. I didn't like it however 5 hours in and everything still had the same gold tint that the first area of the game had. Every good artist knows you have to change and vary environments or else people get sick of them and tired from looking at the same old thing. Look at any game and the environments and colours always change. Its art 101. In fact its anything. If you have too much of the same thing for long periods of time you get tired of it and want something else. Its to avoid player fatigue and keep their attention. And so what if I disliked it? does that make my opinion less valid or any different from another persons? does it make me a bad person for not liking the art direction of a game?

You must not know about this config then, because it is the best and it's also irrelevant, I prefer the original GTA IV, flawed as it is, it's way above the ENB mod.

It's far from horrible, it's the best looking after Crysis considering the complexity, it's also fun to play, mods change that, modded GTA IV is just fun to watch and explore, there's more to the game than that.

GTAIV is complex alright but its horribly optimized. It has horrible framerates and its very choppy. The shadows are also really bad in it and the textures don't even look high res. But it IS fun to play. The thing is mods change only visuals. They change nothing of the gameplay unless you want them too. So how can it make the game worse when they improve the visuals but keep everything else the same. Also no its not the best looking right after crysis and not the most complex after crysis either

Well it's not the same for others, but I personally can't enjoy an altered game, I like mods, but the only thing I can really enjoy when it comes to custom content are just maps for shooters or racing games (like Trackmania). The shadows are not bad at all, they were replaced in on of the last patches, but they also make the game a lot more demanding and you're right, I never said it's the most complex after Crysis, GTA IV is by far the most complex game released so far on any platform, the only thing it lacks visually is AA, the rest is superb as it is.
