So I'm having problems. My PC boots up very fast (less than a minute). But, it is un-usable when it boots up for 30 minutes. Every program is either slow, crashes or won't even open. After that it runs ok.

I have scanned for potential viruses and there are none. My only start-up third party programs are Steam, uTorrent and Origin. Nothing else.

What could be the problem for that un-useable time? It's driving me crazy and I started throwing things into walls out of frustation.

Is there a lot of hard drive access during this time?

I had this same problem and have narrowed it down so far to having those programs open at startup , they may be updating and slowing everything down and 2 , i run windows 8 and i think it sometimes just updates on its own aswell causing my pc to slow down for sometime.

Yeah well, disconnected from the Internet and the PC is insta-usable. So it's probably updating something.

Steam, uTorrent and Origin

You should be arrested for indecent exposure. The only things you're running are two commercial malware packages and the world's largest Trojan Horse? It's a wonder the CIA isn't kicking in your door right now. Stop running massive security leaks in the background, and see if the PC smooths out.

Sounds like you have a program trying to access the internet for some reason - updates or whatnot. My suggestion would be to pinpoint the exact program causing problems. Start by removing all programs from the start up and upon reboot, see if the problem remains. If everything works great, add 1 program back to start, rinse and repeat until issue is located.

Also, you may want to look into making sure that Windows automatic download is disabled as well.

I would say turn off indexing as it floors your harddrive but as you say its only when on he internet make sure no programs are running on start up and test each program until you find the one.

I think I've found the problem. It's Razer Synapse. But it sucks because I need it for start-up for the DPi settings. Seems I'm leaving Razer when I upgrade my mouse and keyboard again.

Get rid of uTorrent. It's a virus magnet and it's illegal anyway.

Well, there is no need for it since it's not the problem. And I never got a virus from it. You just don't download fishy stuff, and I never use it to get games if that's what you're aiming for.

There is nothing illegal about peer to peer file sharing. It is only illegal if the content is illegal. Plenty of legal stuff can be downloaded p2p, since it doesn't require servers it's a cheap option. e.g. humble bundles can be downloaded as torrents
