Black Forest games, a company founded by former employees of the now defunct Spellbound Entertainment, are working on a PC sequel to the home computer classic "The Great Giana Sisters". The game will be 2.D platformer which lets you switch between two different worlds/ environments at any time (reminds me of Soul Reaver). To finish the game (the developers are funding the game on theier own and are about to run out of money), Black Forest have startet a kickstarter project:

Here's the promotion video for the project:

The game will come out for Windows, backing 10 $ will get you a DRM free download of the full game. Ports of the game for Mac, Linux and consoles are considered, once the Windows version is finished.

Personally, I hope the game will be completed somehow, if only for the music, since they managed to get Chris Hülsbeck (who also wrote the orginal game's music) involved in the project. :)

A sequel to a Super Mario Bros. rip off?

EDIT: watched video, the game actually looks really cool.
