PC shuts off for no reason...

I would be playing game or not even playing one, and my monitor will go lacka nd not come back on but my pc is still running. This makes to restart the pc. What could be the problem?

is your pc overclocked? can you tell us the specs?

No it is not overclocked. Q6600 HD 4850 4gb of ram and a 550w PSu.

Most of the time it'll be caused by your monitor trying to display a resolution at a 'Hz' level it can't display.

However if it's simply going black for no reason while surfing the 'Net, it could be a heat problem with the monitor itself.

This has happened to me. You're processor is probably overheating because either (a)overclocked to high or (b)your heatsink fan isn't seated properly on the processor.

If the CPU got too hot then it would shut the pc down.
