PC woes, help troubleshoot, XP not loading

OK, im having some big troubles here. the other day i put my motherboard cd into my computer, just to really see if anything else was on it. so turns out, next time i turn on my computer.....it start to load up...i see the XP loading...and then suddenly the screen goes black...and i get a "NO SIGNAL" from my moniter (moniter running DVI from 8800gts 320mb) so what can i do here, could it be a problem with my PSU ??? is my GPU malfunctioning ??? is my moniter screwed ?? can i fix something through the BIOS ??? please help guys, im counting on you !!!!

did you change the res? maybe you could try going into safe mode or VGA mode which sets it to 640*480 and see if it boots. if it does then you probably set the res too high or got a bad driver update. also, how are you using the interbutts now?

Before trying safe mode try using last known good configuration.

if have the program that can set your computer settings to a day when it was working properly can sometime do the trick

i changed it to VGA using a VGA to DVI adapter and i can tell the screen is of much less quality compared to DVI... but it will have to do for now

eh? I meant press F8 or F5 on the start-up and go to safe-mode but if it's working now with the DVI-VGA adaptor and it's the same monitor then it might have been something else anyway
