I built this system yesterday. The CPU and memory are as follows:

Intel Core2 Duo E6850 Dual core

OCZ 2x1GB DDR2 PC8500 RAM

The memory seems to be clocked lower than it should be. I haven't changed any settings in the BIOS for CPU or memory.

Motherboard is a EVGA 650i

Here are more details on the memory. I noticed it is 333MHz, shouldn't it be higher?

Here is the exact RAM memory I bought. Bought two of them.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that those settings are correct. You essentially have yourRAM and FSB operating at 1:1 with a 1T command rate, which will give you the best possible performance out of your computer.

It really isn't that difficult to just go into the bios and look to see if your settings are correct.

Just look at the package that came with your RAM and see if its correct in the bios. (1:1 ratio doesn't provide superior performance) Since its DDR2 RAM, CPU-Z will only display it as half of what it is.

There is also a settings in the bios that reduces the CPU multiplier to reduce power consumption when not in use (which is why its at 2GHZ and not at what its supposed to be). Just disable it in the bios.

I managed to change a setting now. The results are below:

I'd appreciate any help with this, from someone without a bad attitude.

Well I didn't think I had a bad attitude, but I believe the only problem with that screen is that the ram is clocked at 666Mhz.

Your motherboard is fairly similar to mine, so I'll just tell you what I do. After getting into the bios I believe theres an option to change memory and the fsb (can't tell you the name of the option, because I'm a couple hundred miles away from my PC). Just look around though, should be under advanced settings.

After finding the settings for the memory, bump it up from 666 to 1066 and change the timings to the recommended settings of your memory (1066 4-5-5-15-1t). If you have your memory set to a ratio of 1:1 with the fsb, you should be able to unlink the memory and change the settings manually.

That CPU-Z screenshot is reporting your RAM as PC5300, which I think is wrong.. it should be PC8500.

I dont think theres anything wrong though, if the RAM is running 1:1 with the FSB, then its 333x2=667.

Unless you overclock, changing the FSB to 533 (533x2=1066), the RAM will stay at that speed, which is fine. You could change to a different ratio but its not necessary.

I have been changing the RAM frequency now in the BIOS but the PC won't boot up. I unlinked the memory frequency from the CPU FSB so I can change it normally. There's also an option for a 5:4 ratio which gives me the correct 1066 memory with my 1333 CPU FSB but the PC doesn't boot. Also, when I change it to 1066, the timings move way up, from 5-5-5 1T to something like 5-7-7 2T. Also, I tried bumping up the voltage a little from something like 1.8V to 2.0V and it still doesn't work.

Try going to higher voltage, 2.1 or 2.2V.

Try setting the timings to 5-5-5-15 2t and then just slowly bump them down. I'm guessing the timings are whats messing you up atm.
