Sorry if this is a dumb and repetitive question but I recently bought a 9800GTX+ for my ASUS P5N-E 650i mobo, which has a 1.0 slot I believe and I am wondering how much of a performance hit there is. I did a 3dmark06 benchmark and it was a bit lower than the online sites that show what it should be around. I couldn't think of any reason except that I am on a PCI Express 1.0. Anyone have any numerical as to the difference between running it on 2.0 and 1.0 is? Like 2.0 is 100% or 50% faster than running on a 1.0.

Thanks

A few percent faster at most, if at all. What is your CPU?

That's like saying yes and no.

To the OP, the answer is no, the 1.0 slot has plenty of bandwidth that your card will hardly use half of it

Well, it depends on your card and resolution, but you probably couldn't tell short of benchmarks with any card.

I hear the difference isn't noticeable, maybe 5-10 more fps at max.

Oh, thanks. Also would my CPU hold back the GPU testing in 3dmarks even though it's specifically testing the GPU. Though the CPU probably has something to do with it.

Still using c2d e6400 with no OC.
