You could use Daemon Tools to image the disc (without the k) on the laptop and then mount the .ISO with daemon tools on the desktop.

*WARNING TO GAME SPOT MODS* ITS IS 100% Legal to make a back up copy of a game if you are going to use it simply for a back up or making a ISO file of the game becuase the drive on a PC is not reading the game disc right, and not give it away to anyone and not sell it to anyone.

now t hat said

now how do you make a ISO image of a game disc? just copy all the folders and files that are on a disc and then burn them to ISO? i have Damon tools but im not sure how to make a ISO image.

reason i ask is becuase once in a while i run into the proglem where my DVD drive reads the disc wrong and does not install the game.

Stick the game disc in the drive, then right click the daemon tools icon, and find the option to make an .iso. The same menu should have an option to mount the .iso you created.

Keep Daemon tools updated too.
