is giving away free games a good marketing move? peggle extreme has peggle deluxe; trackmania nations forever has trackmania united forever. peggle extreme and trackmania nations forever are free but not exactly demos; however, they're not exactly the complete versions either.

do these free games induce you to buy the more complete versions? someone mentioned that he wouldn't buy games anymore if more 'demos' were like peggle extreme, and all i know is that i haven't bought peggle deluxe or trackmania united forever, because i got all i needed to get out of both those games without having to buy peggle deluxe and trackmania united forever.

so, is giving away free games a good marketing move? do they persuade you to buy the more complete versions?

Hihi, I voted, but I'll never tell you my stance on this. I bet you're all curious and stuff now.

It is a good marketing decision but it's still a DEMO.I played both of them games and I don't feel compelled to play moar moar.

I'm addicted to Peggle after playing Extreme. Best game ever.

TNF is also awesome, BUT IT'S THE MOST FRUSTRATING GAME EVER MADE.

I would only buy Trackmania United Forever if I had a load of surplus cash available and nothing else to get with it, I still haven't completed all of Nations Forever.

It's excellent marketing. I tried Peggle Extreme today for the first time and I'm buying Deluxe shortly. Trackmania didn't sell me, but that's only because I have driving games I like more.

Anyone who doesn't recognise Wipeout 2097 (Wipeout XL) as the greatest driving game of all time is not fit to call him, her or itself a gamer.

These are both demos of their real games. They aren't free games. Peggle Extreme doesn't have 1/10th of the things Peggle Deluxe has.

They are OK, I like Peggle extreme and the Deluxe demo but I'm not going to buy the full version. As for Trackmania, it is addicting but I just hit a wall in Nations, so scratch United off my buy list.
