The Pentium dual core is a low cache models of the C2D. The 2*** series were 65nm and 1MB cache. The 5*** series are 45nm and 2MB cache.

The E4600 is an allendale core with less cache 2MB than the conroe c2d which had 4MB cache. Those were 65nm.

The E5200 will be the better. Here is the benchmarks comparing them.

Yes it is but, not in all applications. Gaming does not show that much diffrence betw. Allendale and Conroe bcause of the type of L2 cashe they use on the chipset but you should opt. for the wolf (as in E5200) this is a cooler CPU and you are more likley to get a higher Freqence than the crippled conre. (allendale)

I've once had a late Allendale with high multipler (multipler is the x times the front side but and are the setter of the frequense.) and it does OC like a monster also but generally the smaller nannometer the cooler CPU, and Wolfendale is alot smaller than the Conroe/Allendale. This can/or even will help some to get the best of your CPU. (if temps and OC abillety are a factor, and for most pepl they are.)

The E5200 is the new CPU (less than a half year old.) i would go with that one.
