Penumbra or Amnesia?

I'm probably gonna buy one. I really thought no games could scare me anymore, after playing Condemned, Dead Space, Resident Evil and every other horror game with ease. I tried the Penumbra demo, and to keep going on I had to keep the lights on and play without volume. Now I'm going to force myself to play in the dark, at night with my sound decently high.

But I hear if I want to crap myself even more, that Amnesia is the game?

Which one will scare me more?

I've played all three Penumbra games and amnesia, and trust me, Amnesia is MUCH MUCH MUCH better than penumbra in EVERY way and doesn't have some lame combat system.

Both great games, but I would say Amnesia.

Both are great games, but I concur with the general consensus that Amnesia is better.

Curtains closed, lights off, headphones on and a spare pair of underpants at the ready...

both great games. If you want my opinion get penumbra overture+black plague ( dont bother getting the 3rd installment of penumbra since its subpar ) plus Amnesia Penumbra games should be fairly cheap and amnesia costs no more than $20 adamosmaki

Yeah I picked up the penumbra whole pack from amazon DD for about $5.95 during one of their sales a week ago. Pretty cool game, I haven't got very far, its very indepth though, I think it will have a good few scares for me, (lights out, headphones {soon to be some Sennheiser HD280 pro} through my Pod X3 hooked up USB). Then I will worry with Amnesia, which I am sure is better, just I don't want to play Amnesia first, then be underwhelmed by Penumbra.

I played the Demo of Amnesia and it's scary but I think Penumbra was scarier, especially the 2nd one with the mutant alien baby men :|

I believe its digital only, I could very well be wrong though. Also as far as topic, and as how about everyone else has stated. Penumbra is great, but Amnesia is just something else. I STRUGGLED to get through it. Great game!
