I'm thinking of getting a laptop for general use and for casual gaming. I have Dragon Age on order from Amazon and that would be the main thing I'd be playing--no extreme system hogs like Crysis or the like. This asus has an HD 4570--I'm familiar w/ the nvidia line-up of desktop/mobile cards from researching for my current pc build and a laptop that ended up falling through a year or two ago. Could someone tell me how this card compares w/ the nvidia line (which card is it most comparable to to give me an idea) and how the overall laptop would perform w/ DA:O. Thanks

Any other laptop suggestions are welcome as well but I'm trying to stick to a low budget--800 max, which sucks cuz most of the next level ones are in the 800-950 range.

The HD 4570 is pretty light of a card. Being an owner of laptop with one, I would it probably won't run dragon age unless it's on the lowest settings.

Something like thiswould be better, but I think it's a pretty small laptop..

At what settings would this be able to run DA? I might have to stretch my budget a weee bit...that always ends up being a problem lol

I wasn't expecting you to pick a smaller laptop that is slightly weaker for a higher price. The one I picked out is better.

I am sorry, I wasn't talking to you, but to answer I would probably pick the one you selected if I wasn't going to have a desktop because the screen is larger and higher resolution, but it's a stretch to say that it's more powerful.

Well the specs are about the same but iv done some checking and either the Amd processor on it is just as fast as teh T6600 or just a little bit faster. plus its 45nm so it uses less power

That isn't ATI's fault (I imagine) You probably didn't swipe all older versions of the drivers, also, it could have been damaged by the retailers, why not just RMA then get a new one? If that doesn't work either then it's pretty clear it's your own fault, if it's clearly broken THEN you have a reason not to like ATI.
