Greetings,

I am an avid XvT and XWA player, and have been for some 7 years now. Seems to me though that these games are very outdated, and in need of an overhaul. I also play Star Wars Galaxies, and recently went back specifically because of the space battles. It is not the most advanced graphics, but it is a lot better then the old games. I found a petition to get the team at LA to introduce a new game or two: http://www.petitiononline.com/XWing/petition.html.

Not going to happen. Money is worth more than a few potentially fake signatures on an online petition.

But online petitions always work. Just look at how many are made... for everything... But in reality, depending on how many people are willing to buy a game can make money. It doesn't have to sell like a Call of Duty to make profit either. All it needs is a smaller team (much smaller) and a development length as long as a movie game or an EA sports title. Of course there does still need to be enough people wanting it though (most likely quite a bit more than 2500).

Although petitions don't work directly, they may indicate the developers that there's interest. We haven't got Sam and Max 2 from Lucasarts, but after a few years Telltale gave us a new Sam and Max series.

that would be an awesome game to come to PC and consoles considering pc has flight stick and gamepads have analog stick ont hem. Great Idea.

To further my back up my colleague here the petition is only start and true 2500 names alone won't get it done. However I have discovered there are may discussions like this across different forums so the interest is there now we just need to get the word out to bring us all together. Only then can we get LA's attention and as fans we have the power to make it happen you just have to believe. I also have started a FaceBook group based on our general interest in the SW gaming genre and hope get together to discuss all of our ideas. We have our favorite types of games to play for me is the flight Sims hands down but I don't limit it to just them. I wish to see all of our creativity come out and further our gaming experiences continue to thrive well in to the future. Plus new version would allow us to share this with our children as I am experiencing with my 4 yr old son and find myself in awe by the connection. I don't think there is enough of the market out of there for a Star Wars flight sim, especially a PC exclusive one. But really, in this day and age, I'm beginning to think that it would be best just to leave the series to rest. Look at how many fantastic series have come back in the last couple years, and have transformed into generic CoD ripoffs. Turok, Operation Flashpoint, the lot of em. I was never really a fan of the X Wing series, but I am a HUGE fan of the Dark Forces/Jedi Knight series. Ever since the day Jedi Academy came out, I always thought about how it could be improved on in a sequel, however, ever since that disgrace of a Star Wars game, The Force Unleashed came out, I pretty much realized that if there was a new game in the series, it would have most likely been a disappointment.
