My friend is wanting to get a i5 2500k and a 6950. Im trying to help him find a psu. He doesn't have much left after getting all the other parts. Will thiswork to power the parts? If thats not a good one, what should he go with? Need to find the cheapest one that will work.

This system needs minimum of 600 Watt.

Thermaltake 600W is good.

And as that PSU(the one you said)is 630 W then it's good.

Have a look at the corsair cx600. A decent psu is a good investment. Stay away from cheap brands as these can cause problems and could damage your hardware

Get this one. $50 after the promo code.

However if you buy this one today you can get it for $55 (it is slightly better overall).

I don't think either of those will work. I don't think 520w is enough for 6950 and i5 2500k I think the gpu takes 500w and cpu 95w

They are both capable of doing the job flawlessly. And no, the GPU doesn't take 500W. The recommended wattage you see for a video card takes into account the whole system and it is inflated because there are so many **** PSU's out there.

Trust me, 520W is more than enough for that setup.
