One of the best for movies, but I'm not so sure about the rest. If I have the money, I'd buy myself a Pioneer plasma too, too bad I heard they're closing down their business.

I'm not an expert on Plasma's but I've seen a Pioneer Plasma and a Sony LCD on standard def and it didn't look too good. But Blu-Ray is just amazing, out of this world

Yeah if you can't afford a Kuro than getting a Panasonic is no real big deal. Panasonic's are good, but compared to the new 9G Kuro nothing is in the same league.

And yeah the avsforums are your best friend

Kuros are bad ass period. I would get one if i had the $. Panasonic is also very good. I dont believe Pioneer is shutting down their business. Last i heard the were going to get panasonic to make their panels from now on (share their Kuro tech.) so look for the new pannys to incorporate that as well.

Depends on how deep your pockets are.

If you only barely can afford the Pioneer tv, dont.

Why you may wonder? a panasonic PZ80 + an IFS calibration is even better, and should cost around the same amount of money as for the pioneer.

Now if money is not that big of a problem, get the pioneer and an IFS calibration.

And if you really feel owning the best of the best, get the new Kuro 9G series with an ISF calibration.

Also - if your in for a cheap solution, get the panasonic - from what i've heard, they're good "out-of-the-box", atleast better then the pioneer 428. :)

That tv is out of 90% of the people on this sites league. Including me. Pioneer is basically the best hd but the better the hd the worst the sd.But who cares if u can afford that tv u can afford a great hd package from dish to cable.
