I remember when this game first came out, but I haven't really been following it since. For those familiar with the game, how enjoyable is it and is it a quality and polished game? Also, is it worth checking out for 5 bucks?

Thanks and Merry Christmas!

I don't understand these posts. It's $5. Read some reviews on MetaCritic and make your mind up. Did I mention it's only $5?

A little bit of extra input certainly never hurt. Also, reviews of MMOs can be sketchy at best. You have to consider how old they are, are the faults they list fixed or altered? What's the community like? Are they helpful or the arrogant bunch seen in many other MMOs? What's been added?

There's more questions than a few simple reviews can provide.

And sorry, even though it's 5 bucks, that doesn't give near enough of a reason to toss it out there willy nilly.

Check out this thread on the Steam forums. Some guy is giving out monthly passes. See if you can get 1 of them and play it for a few days and decide if it's worth your $5 + monthly fee.

Then you obviously don't play MMOs.

LOL, you pay $5 you see if you like it. If you do you continue paying, if not you've lost $5. What's that the cost of lunch at McDonalds?

I don't think five dollars is the issue here. The issue is, why waste five bucks on a game that might not even be played by people?

He was asking a question about the game, not the price of it. If you've played it, is it really that hard to give the status of the game? That's the question on people's minds when they look at MMOs released awhile ago.

Those of us who have wanted to try the game for awhile could have been much more interested if you had just given a helpful answer.

I don't need a free pass. I want to know how the game is doing. I don't mind paying for something if I'm going to enjoy it, but with about a dozen games waiting to be played due to gifts, I would like to know why this one is worth trying.

When buying off Steam in bulks, five dollars is a lot more than you'd think. I really liked the idea of a pirate MMORPG but my friend who has played it said it was pretty below average. I was pretty disappointed to be honest, but I haven't really looked at that many videos and I've only read a handful of reviews. Would love to try it but it's still five bucks I would be wasting. I bought Sid Meier's Pirates! again instead.

This is why every MMO should have a free trial, period. The games just change way too much over time with updates so that it's impossible to get an accurate view of the game without playing it yourself. That being said, I suggest the OP just spring for it. I bought Champions Online for $10 bucks the other day on the Steam sale. I'll play for my free month and if I like it, I'll subscribe. If not well then, I'll just quit.

My original point exactly. Just give it a crack, and if you don't like it... meh $5.

What you're missing is that your average GS user is a jobless prepubescent nerd that lives completely off his parent(s). The unlucky ones don't even have means to purchase online.

No. This is not a good way for everyone to see if they like an MMO. Why waste time and money on something that you can get no recent feedback from?
