Hey guys !

Not a huge tech regarding the PC build...
But anyway my current card is > GeForce GTX 560 Ti

I was thinking about getting either :

1. Sapphire Radeon TOXIC R9 270x / 2GB GDDR5 / Boost / - 200euro

2. Gigabyte Radeon R9 270x / 2GB GDDR5 / OC / WINDFORCE 3X - 150 euro

3. Gigabyte GeForce® GTX 760 Windforce 3X / 2GB GDDR5 this one is around 200 as well.

I was thinking about going with the number 2 because of the price + the GTX 760 is better by the small margin (as much as my understanding goes)

Anyway if someone who has a good understanding of this + maybe had those cards to compare, would really appreciate some feedback/advise :)

Check the benchmarks and see which makes more sense for you. Why do these same threads keeps popping up?

Because he wants opinions not just numbers.

If it were me I would go for the 760 as you should be able to clock it really well. The Windforce 3X are good cards.

You may concider GTX660 SuperClocked if you could get it cheaper than the 270X

You get a lot of fanboyism on forums like this one. I'll trust hard cold facts over opinions for something that really isn't a matter of opinion.

If you can afford it then get the GTX 760 wind force. Its almost identical to a stock 7970 where the 270x OC is identical to a stock 7950

I'm not a big fan of the 270x (in the US the 7870ghz was selling for $150-170 for most of 2013 and then they rebadged it as the 270x and decided to charge $200-220 for the same product that was $150-170...... WTF ?).

If you can get the gigabyte GTX 760 get it. The gpu is on par with normal 7970 and is only a shade slower then a GTX 670. Also the card has a great overclock head room that allows the gpu to perform faster then both the GTX 770 and 7970ghz. when the 760 is clocked at 1.2 ghz , I have my gigabyte 760 at 1.3 ghz..

Whichever gpu you get, can I advise getting something with an Asus dc2 cooler?

The reason I say this is that the windforce coolers are GREAT, but the dc2's are PHENOMONAL. They keep just as cool or cooler, and you CAN'T hear them...keep it at 100% at all times if you want...

Anyways, seems you are on a good track. Whatever you get, congrats on the upgrade.

Sure...it's just Asus' high end cooling solution, akin to Gigabyte's Windforce 3. It's just a better cooler design, though it's maybe a few bucks more at the time of purchase. The quality of the cooler and fans is incredible, and the fact that even at 100% fan speed you can't hear the card is a blessing (though quiet, the windforces and other coolers don't come close to Asus' design).

If you have case fans and a Asus dc2 equipped gpu, you can overclock your card and have the cooling profile set to keep the card very cool, and you will never hear your' gpu when gaming. It's really nice. Look up some reviews if you want to. I'm a fan of having a quiet pc (I'm not always in my cans) and I hope other cooler's start to match up to Asus' dc2 cooler.

That's out of stock, but it's the cooler that matters. Find a gpu you like with that design if you can...or get another design. I just wanted to put out there that for air cooling, you won't find a better cooling system for your gpu.

Agree about the ASUS coolers, my 670 idles at 25-30 depending on room temp at 10% fan speed...

Load will always be under 70 and I can't hear it. If I bothered with custom fan speeds it would probably still be silent at 60 degrees load.

The gigabyte windforce x3 coolers are great too, Never see my 1.3ghz 760 get beyond 68C. and its quiet, cant hear it over case fans at or below 75%. Never have to use beyond 55% fan speed though.

I agree on the 760 if you are on a budget, it's probably the best value price and performance considered. Get a Gigabyte windforce or Asus DCII edition.
