This is not how you treat your customers. It's only 15 minutes late...you guys are a little early for the pissed off party.

Some of us have never been 15 minutes late for anything... we just want everyone to live up to those standards.
I call BS! That is utterly impossible :P

I am not defending Valve here, or saying it sucks to wait extra. but to be "pissed off" is a little silly over 15 minutes (well more now).
Crap happens, I am sure Valve is doing what they can to get you guys your game. The whole "they already have our money" thing is silly also. What...do you think Gabe is sitting behind some huge console throwing $100 bills in the air laughing at all the people trying to play bioshock?

It is not silly, it is reasonable. I am not literally pissed off, just a little unimpressed with their sense of time. Now that it is settled I am off to play Bioshock. Good day.[QUOTE="weirjf"][QUOTE="dnuggs40"]It's only 15 minutes late...you guys are a little early for the pissed off party.

Managing your time is always possible. Which is why I'm always 10 minutes early.
I'm so ****ing pissed right now. When I try to play it says "Failed to contact key server". Even though the game has now been decrypted and I have the .exe file. For some reason I have a new download which started at 72% done though it's appears to be as large as the original download. Now I'm going to have to wait another couple hours for this new download to finish. :|meggido
That's lame. I have a funny feeling I won't be playing this game until tommorrow.

Sorry...it's IMPOSSIBLE to never be late to anything. There are always variables out of your control, such as an accident, car breaking down, getting lost, ect, ect, ect.
Please don't even try and suggest you have NEVER been late for anything. It's preposterous...
And if you plan to live a relatively stress free life, I would suggest you not to expect "everyone" to live up to those crazy standards. When you get older, you will find that people will "dissapoint" you on an almost daily basis.
Well its taken about an hour and its finally 99% done, I went and made some lunch, took a nap..and the game is finally ready. Meh, I could have just driven 5 minutes and got the game from Gamestop.
I suspect Steam preloaded all finalized assets onto our systems, but kept other assets that werent totally finalized under wraps to prevent piracy or what have you. Whatever, its a dumb system of doing things.
Well at least I get to play in the dark :o hopefully the game is scarier then the demo. Of course my ISP has a 20 GB limit per month :? 75% percent done with whatever this new download is.meggido
Note to self: never pre-load a game off steam again.TeufelhuhnI am taking the same note as well. First I have to wait a half an hour, now four and a half hours.
Ok making it available at 4 is one thing, but not even delivering when promised is another..UNLOCK MY GAME! *cry*DarKre
Lmao yeah. Then when it's finally unlocked, you have to wait the entire day for it to download. I went straight to gamespot and bought me a DISC. Steam is nice for when things drop in price...but if there's no significant difference in price, what's the point...
That's how I bought Half Life 2 anyway. But I also wanted the collector's edition of Bioshock and I didn't see that anywhere in Steam.
I have the same problem. dissapointed with Steam and quite upset I'm not in rapture right now. Should have gone to eb. Valve is a great group of developers but this isn't fun. They don't offer refunds. I am stuck inthis 30kb/s angry zone. Thanks. rant over.
very upset customer here. 250 BYTES per second. I am going to leave the vicinity.
the fact that you could download it several days earlier?Lmao yeah. Then when it's finally unlocked, you have to wait the entire day for it to download. Is the download going slow as hell for the rest of you guys? I just hit 83%. This is going to take forever.Teufelhuhn
I started at 72% and I'm now at 78%. Download seems to be going anywhere from 20-50kbs though I had occasional spells of 130kbs which is pretty much as fast as it gets on my connection. Anyone know how good direct2drive is? :P

The problem now is that steam wants you to download another gigabyte or so, even though you already finished the main download.
