I have a good gaming rig in the other room, and i want to connect my monitor, mouse and keyboard to the PC in that other room.

Basically what i want is that 2nd person can use internet on the other monitor with the 2nd mouse&keyboard while i play games for example on the 1st monitor.

What do you think? I'm already using a PS3 from another room and sound has no delay, so i assume keyboard wouldn't either on a PC?

No, i won't buy a cheap PC for office use, it's not my PC, i'm the one who has an office PC and i can't just take someone elses PC, can i?

Why isn't it practical would be more useful to say.

Also, i need 2 sepperate cursors for 2 mice, is there any working program that allows this or are people still retarded and can't think of why its useful?

it's a problem of multitasking. while you're loading up all those xtreme fx the dude trying to collate database records will be a little mad and so will you. plus, one might move his cursor over to the other screen, happens a lot when games don't accomodate for multiple monitors (for example, a lot of RTSes you'll be wondering why the camera isn't panning - it's because your mouse is on the other screen).

Yeah this is just a crazy idea, you'd be better off buying a super cheap netbook for the other person to use if they really need a way to access the internet. Having 2 people using two monitors, unless there's a specific program made to do that, which as far as I'm aware there isn't, would just cause so many problems, the main one being, as Firebird said, that even if you could make it understand 2 mice and keyboards your cursors would constantly be going onto each others screens and you'd probably get a load of keyboard errors, they'd be typing stuff and your game character would be running around doing stuff you didn't want.

a pc by default will take one set of inputs from as many m/kbs as you plug in - so you can HAVE a second mouse and keyboard in there, but anything you do with either keyboard will be replicated on both screens. you might be able to do something odd with virtual machines, but it would pretty much wreck your gaming performance and you'd likely need a second terminal (PC) to remote into the first one anyway.

the problem is that a cursor cant be in two places at once.. thats the dilema you face..
