Hey,

Do you guys get involved with more than one game at a time. In all honesty, for me, it would be nice to play through one game, move to another and so on, however, it seems as if playing one game through without playing others can make the game feel tedious and almost like "work."

So, do you guys/girls play a few games at a time, or do you beat one, then start a new one?

-Thanks

Well when it's a multiplayer game sure. I play Counterstrike source, then play a little Neotokyo, followed by some Left4Dead or maybe Killing Floor, and finally some TF2.

As far as single player games, I just got a ps2 the other day and bought 10 games since Gamestop was having a buy 2 get 1 free this weekend. I'm playing Need for Speed Most Wanted and Final fantasy X and really want to play Rachet & Clank or Ghost in the Shell when it comes in the mail. Sometimes I feel like playing too many games at once makes you forget the stories and I can lose appreciation for it and even be encouraged to stop playing. Playing one game at a time is usually a good idea, but I can understand getting bored more quickly with the possibility of not playing.

I tend to try to stick to one game at a time, or at least one per "category." For example, playing Crysis I would try not to play an action/fps singleplayer game, so Bioshock or Assassin's Creed would be off limits, but I have no problem taking breaks and playing TF2, Fallout,or Dawn of War, etc. I definitely know what you mean about how tedious it can be and how it can feel like work sometimes. I think that's because when I tell myself I can only play one game at a time I naturally want to play others, but my gaming experience is usually diminished when jumping from game to game.

quite often I do, 2 or 3 usually. When it's slow and I have nothing to play obviously not. I like having a few to play at once, I can switch it up if I get stuck or bored. I'd say in general I'll have one main game that I'll focus on and a few side games.

I will play a game for an hour or less, then move onto another game. Play for an hour or less, rinse and repeat. I really am not sure why I even attempt single player games, as only multiplayer games hold my interest for any reasonable length of time. Out of the hundreds of PC/console games I've played, I think I only completed a couple.

currently, i have alot of games i want to play, so im all across the border, hoping from my 360 and Blazblue to PC TF2, then to l4d, going on guild wars for an hour or so, jumping back to my Xbox for some dead space, and then launching up CoD4 on the ol PC to get a few headshots. its really not great, and i wish i could stick to one, but there is so much to play.

I remember when i did stick to one game though. Oblivion and Soul Calibur IV were the only games that i really stuck to without touching anything else, and i must say, it felt nothing like work. Heck, it was the greatest time i ever had playing video games.

I just can't do it. Not even multiplayer games.

I always stick with one at a time. If I go for two, switching between them periodically, I tend to lose interest in both.

I like to mix genres a bit. I almost always have an RPG, a FPS and an RTS on the go at the same time. Often I'll chuck in an adventure game too if a decent one comes my way. I don't know whether that's bacause I've got a short attention span or because it takes me an unusually long time to complete a game.

Depends on the game. Many of the games I play are rather demanding simulators, and you don't really want to be confusing yourself with others while you're trying to learn them. Others are just so damn good that you don't WANT to play anything else till they're done (Morrowind and Mafia come to mind). But yes, I often find myself playing a few games at a time when I'm not especially interested in any single one.

I tend to jump around from game to game, usually when I hit a hard spot in a game and get stuck.

I tend to play 2 or 3 at a time. At the moment it's Mass Effect, Street Fighter IV and GRID.

And I've always got Team Fortress 2 on the go.

I play all sorts too. I bought a huge hard drive specifically because I want to have so many different games on the go at the same time.

One game per time. SOmetimes, one game per year. Since june 08 and today, I have played one game only: Act of War; both original and expansion online

Although, I do assist my girl on some adventures games she plays :)

I tend to stick to one at a time if its in the same genre

for example I got fallout 3 and fable 2 over Xmas but ddint play Fallout 3 til i completed Fable 2, but i wouldnt start playing a story based FPS either, i tend to

stick to one game and immerse myself in it and then move onto the next one

however i would play a FPS online inbetween breaks off an RPG as they have no relevance and are not gonna interrupt the story of a bioshock or fallout etc

Sometimes though i like to completely immerse myself in a game series if i havent gone through it before and not play any other story based game

in-between, so i am playing through the Metal Gear series at the moment as i never played 2, 3 and 4, so i brought MGS2 for the XBox, MGS 3 for the PS2, and

MGS4 for the PS3, i did the same with the silent hill games too, and i will when Black mesa comes out, and then play through HL2 again, ep 1, ep 2 and so on

I used to play many games at the same time, but I ended up overwhelmed and not finish any game and not enjoying them much either. So, now I just stick to a few games. If I get bored with some game or feel that I don't have too much time to play it as I should I leave it at stand by and come back to it later. It happened to me with Fallout 3. I've got to level 15, but I don't have time too play sessions that are too long, so instead I'm playing more casual games like Plant Vs. Zombies which I deeply enjoy, along with some The Sims 3 and Street Fighter IV. I should come back to Fallout 3 as soon as the next DLC is released.

Single-player, I tend to play through one game at a time, that way I can enjoy the game and the story. As for online, I switch around a bit, sometimes I will play with my buddies on Call of Duty 4 or switch to Battlefield 1943.

That's exactly how it works for me. STALKER is my main game right now, with Caesar 4 and Quantum of Solace being my side games.

Thanks again for the replies. As I said, I play several games at a time. I feel that once you play a game for a minute or so, the story, characters and controls seem to refresh, and doing this switching from game to game keeps it interesting. I am not always in the mood for Crysis for example so, I will play something else for a day or so.

-Thanks
