Hey guys,

I'm planning on buying this LCD TV so I can hook it up to my computer via DVI (HDMI converter). Use of it will be mainly for watching movies in high def and maybe play some games (crysis, prince of persia..etc)
I was just wondering if anyone had done that kind of setup also? I'm using a ATI HD4850 video card, I don't think i'll be able to max out the resolution in crysis, but should be fun to see it on a big LCD

Here is the link to the TV:

http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?sku_id=0770HDS0010108398&atab=&spviewed=&newlang=EN&logon=&langid=FR

I read lot of review and most of the user seem satisfied with the price/quality ratio (bang for the buck). I just haven't heard a lot from people using it with a PC for gaming

Thanks for your advices!

I do it from time to time...it is an awesome setup. Throw in some surround sound and you got yourself one hell of an entertainment system.

If you're planning to buy it from a store location, I suggest you have the sales person hook up a laptop to the TV in question just to try it out. They may entertain the idea since Futurshop sales rep are on target/commission based pay. A few years ago, a friend of mine had an LCD 42" Panasonic hooked on to a PC, and while gaming was okay, texts were blurred. He wasn't able to use it as his primary display since doing his homework or surfing the net was impossible. I'm not sure, however, how far LCD technology has come since then. A few months back, I saw large LCD TV connected to a computer in a Staples Business Depot, and it seemed fine to me (fine as in legible text... it was actually pretty awesome).
