Sorry if this doesnt fit into the Computer games catagory, but figured its close enough. I recently bought the DVD version of a new game, The main computer in our house has a dvd drive however I cant always use it, and get stuck with another computer without a dvd drive, so I was wondering is there away to play games with another computers DVD drive. I was able to install the game fine with the other computer drive, but when trying to run the game it doesnt detect the other computer dvd. Anyone able to help me out?

You could search for a no dvd crack for the game your trying to play, these make the games work with out the cd/dvd which may solve the problem.

The legal way to do it would be to install it on the main computer, transfer the game's directory and registry files to the DVD-less computer, create a backup of the CD on your drive, transfer that to, and mount the backup with a virtual drive.

Yeah, Iv had a look about for a no cd patch. I didnt find any however, and Im also not too keen on using them. Im mostly hoping to be able to play by using the 2nd computers dvd drive over the network.

Why not swap drives in the two computers, or better still... you could just buy a DVD-RW drive.

They're $20-30 including tax and shipping. Hardly a bank breaking investment.
