So I have a Logitech G35 which is great for PC gaming. However, PS3 does not support audio out through USB. So I was wondering, could I get the audio composite from the PS3, plug the adapter into my Mic port on my mobo onboard sound, then play that through to my Logitech G35? My computer is usually on so no problem for me. I am not keen on using 3.5 mm headphones as my iPod earbuds are pretty bad.
So this setup can actually work? I was browing sound options when I discovered "Listen to this device" option. I read something about how USB soundcard can't interact with other sound devices. Not really sure if that would impact what I have in mind.
The way I did it for my 360 was to take the two sound wires from component wires and plug it into a Y splitter and then I plug my speakers in that for sound control, while plugging in the headphones throug the speakers. Eh, ps3 isnt hookup to test it, but itll work on components :( not sure how to get it to work with hdmi.
You are right about usb devices not being able to interact with each other. You need to use regular analog(green, black, orange), digital coaxial or digital optical plug speakers/headphones to enable audio in passthrough.
