Simple question:

Does the PS3 have any trouble playing games on a DVI w/HDCP monitor?

I was going to get a DVI to HDMI cable and hook my PS3 up into a monitor. I heard some issues after new PS3 firmware update, of peoples monitors flickering on and off. I'll be flying over the pacific soon and a monitor is the route to go instead of buying a tv.

I have used a monitor with no problems though you might want to test it out if possible just to make sure it works

I haven't had any issues with HDCP monitors (non HDCP monitors of course won't work at all). but if you have a specific model you'll be stuck with I'd recommend googling "PS3 (my monitor model number)". If someone has experienced issues with that particular model on a PS3 you are likely to find either an article or forum posting describing the issue. Beyond that, if you can get a monitor that has component input as well then you have a potential backup if you encounter HDCP problems.
