Pleas help me to play simcity 3000 on my win xp pc

i have a p4 with 1gig memo but sc3k world edition plays at a snails pac.It hangs a lot.I have the compatibility option also checked.

I also used cpu slowdown programs and memory slow programs but no breakthroguht..

the game goes to near hang when i increase the the game speed to full.

i want to play this old game.want to relive the memories.
