Hey guys.. im new here and yet i need help. I didnt know where to post this so since its a PC issue ill throw it here.

I cant play any games :( . I used to be able to play stuff like WW II Sniper n such but not anymore.

I installed DirectX9 i went and bought a new vid card (  NVidia e-GeForce 7600GS ) . I got a P4 2.6  , 1GIG of memory and still cant get any games to open. I installed MOH pacific assault , Black Hawk Down....etc . When i open them to play ,  the game loads  ( i can hear the background music for BHD  ) and then  my screen goes black and the monitor LED   flickers. I tryed different  resolutions  , i tryied the default resolution they give ( MOH ) .....still the same problem. What can it be ?????

Thanks in advance for any help !!!!!!!

Oh man that sucks...since it could be for a number of reasons, most of them point towards formatting since you say that you have the newest drivers and stuff for your hardware. You could tell us a bit more about your computer or then again perhaps over the time Windows filled itself of the usual junk and now it refuses to play games. When that happens you need to teach it a lesson, show it who's boss and give it a good olde format.

Don't know if its the same thing, but something similar happened to me. I wasn't able to play COD, i was able to see the menus, but when the game would play the screen would turn black. I went to the website of my graphix card, in my case ATI, and dl the newest driver. Problem solved. Hopfully its the same thing for you. But yeah, that sucks.

i had this same problem a while back, and however dumb it sounds, disable your firewall and then try the game, sometimes the firewall will try to verify that you want the game to connect while in game and it places you to a black screen, worth a try, and good luck if that doesnt work

It might be a power supply problem.  New video cards need more juice and maybe yours isn't giving it enough.  Try putting your old card in.

Do you have a dual-core by any chance?

edit...

Oh, wait... you said you were able to play games on this setup before you changed the vid-card. In that case it think you have a bad GPU... just run some simple tests in DXdiag to see whether the GPU functions correct or not. I have had the same problem and it turned out to be a malfunctioning graphics-card.
