[QUOTE="shane_neo"]hi all, im having a problem recently. While playing games, they start fine, but after 2-3 minutes, they start lagging. The frame rates become so slow that i have to exit the game. It takes about 30 second to do a complete turnaround. I have played advanced graphics games like farcry 2, splinter cell dounle agent untill recently and they all did just fine. This problem has started only recently. So much so, now when i try to play older games like GUN, hitman 2, they also lag considerably. please tell me where the problem might lie. My system config: intel core 2 duo cpu (2.20Ghz), 2 GB RAM, GeForce 8400GS 512MB,320GB Hard disc. I had a hunch that this might cause from overheating so i took a reading from NVIDIA control panel. The reading goes like this- Temperature - GPU1 114C Fans - System: 31889 RPM nForce - 675RPM Aux2 - 18 RPM Someone please helpadamosmakiThat is definatelly overheating. Anything ove 80-85 should be considered alot
Yeah 114c for your gpu, lol wow. I'd check to make sure the fan didn't die on your video card, along with any of your case fans and your cpu fan. If it's been awhile since you've cleaned your computer, get a can or two of compressed air and go to town.
Definitely overheating. I had the same thing happen to me. Mine was an HP laptop though. According to PC Wizard, my GPU was 121 C.
The laptop finally quit working (no picture) and I had to send to HP to be fixed. The laptop was only 18 months old, but out or warranty.
HP fixed it for free! I think they had problems with NVIDIA cards overheating (pretty sure I read that). I cannot think of any other reason they would
fix it for free out of warranty. Working fine now, but still seems hot. I would advise anyone to avoid Nvidia cards in laptops, at least for now!
yea, its overheating......check the cpu temp too, a great tool to use is everest ultimate edition which lets you know the temps for pretty much all the parts of your PC. Hope you get it sorted out!!!
Maybe this will not completey solve your problem but what I would do is download CCleaner, a free, safe program that fixes errors, issues, cleans unwanted crap like temp etc. and it does the job pretty fast. I run it every day to ensure my games don't lag alot.
Even if your problem isn't this, still a good tool to clean stuff from your pc to increase frame rates.

If your touchy about thinking whether if it's illegit, Toms Hardware website approves of it.
Happened to me once when I had a radeon 9600 pro. I used to play for an hour fine and then gpu started resetting itself. I said ookay and used it that way for 6 months. When I finally opened my case İt turned out that my gpu fan was broken and collapsed. I miss my good little fella
Yeah it happened to me too, but I only accelerated it with my GPU OCing craziness, but that particular generation of laptops had problems I think due to bad saudering. What happened to you was I believe from the faulty Nvidia GPUs.Definitely overheating. I had the same thing happen to me. Mine was an HP laptop though. According to PC Wizard, my GPU was 121 C.
