Alright so today in the morning i was on the computer it was working perfectly normal. I go to school and come back and its really slow ( Well the internet is really slow). I decide to restart it so i do and when i try to turn it on it then says "f1 to continue, f2 to enter setup" f2 leads to bios and then ends up freezing and doesn't respond to keyboard or mouse anymore. and f1 leads to a screen which loads and then freezes. i tried the recovery cds and that ends up freezing to. and just about a minute ago it went to some error messege that let me start windows in safe mode.

Sony Vaio computer xp sp 3

last thing i was doing was srubs/youtube. Someone please help. and since im in safe mode what do i do?

sounds like the ram is screwed, or theres something on motherboard thats overheated and causing the bios to malfunction. I know you may be scared to reboot, but try doing a system restore through control panel -> system -> system protection -> then restore it to a date where you knew it was working, this restores all system files and settings back to that date, upon reboot you may also try going into your bios if it doesnt freeze and go across until you see something that will say "restore setting defaults".

alright thanks a friend said it might be a trojan since i found adware. If i got rid of the virus and did a system restore, would the virus be "restored"?

That would depend on when the virus got on ur pc, where it is placed on ur drive, but generally if you go backa week, should be ok

alrighty calm down here Pachino. Try opening up your computer case. Check all the fans including the CPU fan it might be plugged with dust if so. Go to your local computer store get some thermal paste. Take off the fan get a vaccuum and suck out all the dust. Apply the thermal paste and put back on.

This will only be a factor if your computer is really old.
