Please help, deciding whether I should buy 280 gtx or not

I am deciding whether or not I should buy a 280 gtx for my computer. However my computers hardware isn't that great and I was thinking the slow cpu might be a bottleneck for the computer. The other option is just to wait and see what happens

My computer:

Core 2 Duo E6850 3ghz @ 3.3 ghz

2GB DDR2 800mhz RAM @ 880 mhz

9600 gt 512mb gpu

Windows xp SP3

What do you mean? your Rig is perfectly fine as it is, that CPU is one of intels fastest, and ram you can upgrade if you want 4GB.

But i would take a short time woundering about if the high price on the GTX280 is worth it?, you can run most games at high or higher, and if you can wait for another year the GPU's will be alot more poweful than the GTX280. (witch already have a faster card the HD4870x2.)

I would wait for the next gen cards or buy a card with better performance vs price.
