You are kinda in a hump of a price point...What I would suggest is save a little more and get over that hump..in all honestly yea need to spend just a bit more..

Bellow is a link to what I believe a perfect entry level home theater system

Looking into it further..the above link IMO would be better for a longer term..but if cost is a huge factor..go with this and I am sure you will be very pleased..

I would also recommend this setup. You get HDMI inputs to plug the PS3, 360 and DVD

The second link he posted does not have the HDMI inputs. The other does passthru for signals. So it will pass through what ever signal the supplying equipment sends. For example you PS3 will send 1080p and the receiver will send that to the TV. It does not up-convert any signals. you would have to go to a different more expensive setup for up-convertion.

Yes....both setups will allow you to connect your PS3, 360 and a dvd player to them via component cables and optical cables...Component cables are fine all the way up 1080i and will provide you with an HD picture..

Keep in mind when you add either two systems to your cart it takes an additional 50 bucks off..So the 5.1 system that goes for 399.99 is really 349.99 and the 7.1 system that goes for 499.99 is really 449.00..

You just have to decide if the additional 100 bucks for the 7.1 system is worth it.....There are a few other features that make the 7.1 (other than 2 additional speakers) system more favorable than the 5.1.. IMO, but at the end of the day if you don't have the extra 100 bucks it really does not matter.

In addition you can pick up the video cables (component) http://www.monoprice.com/products/subdepartment.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10235 and Audio (Toslink/optical) http://www.monoprice.com/products/subdepartment.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10229 from the supplied links. Monoprice is cheap and extremely reliable.

Have Fun!!!

Edit: I forgot you need to use the component cable that comes with the 360 and you will to pick up a PS3 component cable like this one.. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8223013&type=product&id=1166840115294

Anything from Bowers & Wilkins will blow you away, I've got the 800 Series myself and am absolutely astonished by the performance.

if you want a quick fix, go for an all in one package.

if you want a real theater, expect for it to take some time (provided you are paying for it yourself)

my system was 2 years in the making, and its been totally worth it. estimated price...probably 3k.
