Ok here's what happened yesterday my brother tried to use my computer to send a fax but i dont have a fax machine so when he tried to send it this message from my hp printer came up saying you dont have the proper program to do this and send please insert the apropriate disk to install. So i click cancel and when i do this a error message comes up and takes me back to the please insert disk thing again so i ctrl alt delete it and end task. I restart my computer and log on and the please insert disk thing comes up again so end task it again. I then try to go on the internet and it says program cannot be found and tells me to browse for it and when i do i find the folder but theres nothing in it for me to click on. I check my games, windows word, and everything and when i click on them the same browse thing comes up its like they dont exist anymore. so i uninstall my printer program. That doesn't work. I try system restore like 30 times that doesnt work. I try to repairs windows that doesnt work. I try to unistall and reinstall windows that doesnt work. Ive tried disk dreframentation that doesnt work i tried scanning the computer for errors and that doesnt work. also when i log in everytime this thing comes up called microsoft intellipoint telling me i need to restart it because of a problem.

I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO im on my dads laptop posting this.

PLEASE HELP THANKS GUYS

You have your windows disc still... if yes reformat your harddrive then install windows and everything again. If no or for some other reason you can't do what the above guy said if that doesn't work save up some money cause you are going to buy a new computer. *While I do not suggest this you could get a technician to fix it but that is not free but then again neither is buying a new computer.

^^^ don't do this yet. short of buying a new computer, reformatting and reinstalling windows is always the last resort.

try running Windows in Safe Mode (with networking if you can, so then you can access the internet and keep us updated). does it still happen there?

how do i uninstall the drivers for my printer

HAVOC255

if you go to control panel>remove programs, there should be something called "hp printer" and maybe says driver. click on it, uninstall, and you may just see an end to your problems. my prior experience has led me to believe that for every less hp thing you have installed on your computer, it becomes twice as reliable. /bias

nah that's a rip i'm sure we'll figure it out. who knows, you may even be able to get windows printer drivers to work for you in place of hp ones. let us know what happens after removing the printer drivers.

no kidding. well, did you uninstall everything from hp? i guarantee you you could use that computer without any of the hp programs on it. if that doesn't work, you probably have to re install your OS entirely. if it's an hp, hitting f2 during startup should repair the operating system. back up all important files first.
