Please help problem with CS source

Hey everyone I have a pentium D 830 processor with an ATI x1900xt 512 mb card. 3 gigs of ram. 2x512mb and 2x1gig. My question is when I am running counter strike source at 1280x1024 with all the eye candy on and 4xAA what should my FPS be? I am only getting about 45 to 50 sometimes it drops down to 30 fps. and that just pisses me off, please help me what can i do to get better performance with my hardware?

Uhh dont play it. Heh well the ati cards, have in my exp. had some problems with source games, so turn a few things down and you will be allright:) 

Oh and that processer might be holding you back a bit, so just dont crank it up so much.

Hmmz, interesting problem since I'm also running on max everything on much lower specs than yours and experiencing about the same frame rates.

One solution may be to email the steam tech guys directly and they may give you a direct solution.
