I very recently built my first computer and It couldn't have gone ny better. Now I installed all the drivers for everything. Although theres only one problem I have. When ever I play games with a resolution lower than my monitor like 1600x1200 it works very good. Even when i exit the game the desktop stilll maintains 1920x1080 res. But when I shutdown and decide to turn it back on the resolution of the screen is that of the previous game. Aspect ratio and all. Now I can change it back to native but this is a frustrating process because I know this isn't normal.

System specs if it helps:

(24" DELL SCREEN WHICH IS 16:9 WITH 1080P)

OEM Vista Home Premuim 64bit

C2D E8400 @ 3GHZ

4gb 800mhz RAM

MSI 8800GT 512mb O/C version

Seagate 7200.12 500GB

Gigabyte EP41-UD3L MOBO

Yeah it does support 1080p because the resolution does display 1080p on desktop. It has it in supported solutions aswell

Are you using the latest drivers from Nvidia's website or are you using the driver from the CD?

I actually bought the card off friend and came with no CD for $25 AU. So I definintly download latest drivers off nvidia. They were 2009 ones I think.
