While playing C&C3, or any of my C&C games, the cursor either doesnt appear or flashes.

Why in the world is this happening?

I was running Xp before and there was never a problem until I upgraded to Vista.

What do I need to do, I want to play C&C3 so nad, please help me!?!?

Have you done usual maintenance? Defrag your drive after doing disk cleanup, spyware scan, registry cleaner, etc...then reboot?

While I agree Vista isn't the best, why go back to XP if you're just going to switch back to vista when Direct X 10 games come out?

You have two options: 1. check to see if you have a TSR running for your mouse. (bottom right corner in XP, don't know where vista will display TSRs). If you have one running, disable it. The mouse should still work fine and should display fine in vista. Mouse TSRs used to interfere with the cursor in some games in Win98, maybe they re-introduced this problem in vista? I dunno. 2. If that doesn't work then either use XP or wait until vista is service packed and "hope" they fix the issue.

Just my two cents worth here, but why would you go Vista when 1) It will take a while before all the bugs are out of it ie. games suck now due to issues with Vista. 2) XP is just fine and DX10 games are a ways off, meaning any reasonable amount of DX10 titles will be, here it comes, 2008ish. I know some titles are coming this year however not that many to justify upgrading to Vista just for that, DX9 games have a bit of life yet. 3) I guess would be costs involved upgrading to Vista. The OS itself, yeah back to the whole DX10 thing like new vid card and such, not worth it IMHO. 4) Last but not least by the time all the bugs are squashed somewhat to make Vista into a reasonable platform have people come across something called "Vienna" in their travels??? Like I said just my two cents.

Hmmm, Vista, while being listed as "ready" isn't quite ready since it doesn't have the service packs and such that XP had to go through. Sounds like it might be Vista-related and for that, I can't do much because there's not much that can be done (I use XP SP2 and am *not* going to switch to Vista till at least SP2 is released). Sorry...

Are your games patched? I know that C&C3 works great on my system and I'm using Vista so you should try that or run it under compatibility mode.

i had the same problem once - get latest video card driver and Direct X - if that won't help just get newer video card

well i must admit i didn't saw my mouse at all in C&C Generals so i did in the mouse options the pointer trails on to see something at least lol - most probably it's a hardware problem
