hi there..

1st of all.. this is my comp Component..

intel(R) Pentium(R) Dual CPU E2189 @ 2.00Ghz

memory (ram) 2.00GB

250GB Maxtor Hard Disc (sata)

160GB SeaGate Hard Disc (sata)

System Type 31-bit Operating System ( Vista Ultimate)

Intel Desktop Board Media Series DP35DP

Power Supply - Kingstar ATX-500w

Here's what is written on the PSU.

Ac Input| Voltage| Current| Frequency |

| 240v| 5A| 50HZ

DC Output| Orange Red| Yellow White|Blue| Purple| Gray|

| +3.3v +5v | +12v -5V| -12v | 5Vsb | P/G|

Max| 24A 30A|20A0.5A|0.5A| 2A | Ok |

*Could i possibly run either a HD 4850 or 9800gt With in this or do i have to change Power Supply to run the card?

it doesn't have the 6pin pci-e Connector..

if i run it with the adapter cable bundled in the box will i still be able to get the card up?

and btw.. which one is better?

Hd 4850 or GeForce 9800gt?

thanks in advance in any post given.. thanks..

4850 is better and you can use that PSU, you can use 2 4 pin to one 6 pin adapter that comes with most video cards, when you buy it make sure the card comes with the adapter.

you should check this http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/video/display/msi-9800gt.html they are testing it against HD 4850.By the way if your PSU doesnt have 6 pin power connector let me tell you both these cards require an external power connector for extra power supply you should change your PSU and buy newer ones which have it.hope this helps

the power is enough, ati says you need 450 minimum......so 500w is fine. My hd4850 came with a molex-to-6pin adapter.

Your psu seems ok. Which numbers are under the +12v ( that is what mostly matters )? Also the ATI 4850 might be a bit to much for your processor which isnt exactly on the high end ( means that your CPU will limit the performance of 4850). On the other hand the 9800gt might be the perfect match for your cpu

can run it but might have some stability issues, my old 420w ps with 18a could run a 8800gt but it kept crashing till I got my 570w with over 40a
