Ok my computer is infected with viruses after downloading limewire...I cant find a way to effectively get rid of the viruses without paying for something. SO im decidng to reformat my computer..heres the problem. I cant find the key code for Halo. I play halo online alot and that would suck if i couldnt any more, Is there any way I can stil play it without that? does ne1 have ne suggestions or am I just screwed?
something like that happened to me last week, where it like infects your computer and won't get rid of it until you purchase something. what i did to get rid of it was to do a system restore to the day before it happened and i haven't had a problem since
i'll tell you a way to get rid of the viruses but it's kind of difficult.
you have to get a portable copy of windows xp and put it on a usb drive along with ice sword (most important program), spybot, adaware, avg anti-virus, and any other program that you think might help.
at that point you start in safe mode and use ice sword to disable pretty much everything and then run all the programs.
if you already have your mind set on reformatting and you can't find the key then either call customer support to see if they have an answer or this.
Wait, did you get the virus from Limewire itself or from something you downloaded via it? If you mean from Limewire itself: It's probably not a virus, but spyware. Try Spybot : Search & Destroy, always works for me. I recall it seeing spyware in Limewire.
