get that over that WD hard drive, for one, you will need more space, two more warrenty, and three its a faster drive, i have one and it is really fast, hard drives can cause slowdown if you go cheap (overall system wise) and thats not much more anyways, also i dont know when the x48 is coming out, but id look out for it, and i wouldnt get the x38, its not really that good for the money, get the 780i instead if u dont want to wait for the x48.

also get that ram over the ram you picked, its a WAY better deal and you can OC it.

ok, I went with the hardrive but the ram I think I'm keeping. I really only trust corsair and OCZ (bad experiences) I've also had bad problems with my evga 680i board so i think i'll stay away unless the 780i proves otherwise. When is the x48 supposed to hit?

thanks for the suggestions

not going to argue about the RAM, but all im going to say is that all the RAM is made by micron unless its kingston or sumsung etc, and micron= crucial (crucial is a subsidiary of micron) but its your choice, anyways on the motherboard, ive heard good things about the 780i so far, and if u still have that EVGA board, you should be able to step up to a 780i board, cant say when the x48, cuz im not sure.

What's the point of an X38 and a 9800GX2? The whole (AND ONLY) point of an X38 is crossfire, because because PCI-E 2.0 really doesn't yield performance benefits yet.

Unless you are made of money, just worry about a board that can overclock your processor well. Personally I'd recommend a good p35 motherboard, since the x38s don't have anything over those overclocking wise. The X38's aren't bad, but they aren't worth the price either unless they are used for a crossfire setup.

also, I got the money might as well get the "so called" enthusiast chipset. Also I have a pretty big system, thermaltake kandolf case with a water cooling solution. According to "extreme power supply calculator" with all my junk im trying to push they're telling me I need 1090W to push everything lol.
