i'am in a real pickle here and need some serious help deciding which of the next generation consoles to get, now i got around £500 to spend here, but i'am in need of a helping hand as i'am affraid i'll make the wrong decision and wind up with a console i just won't love (sort of like a girl friend really) anyway. it is your job to do what ever u can (with the exception of lying to me) to make me choose on of the following consoles:

nintendo Wii- cheap, fun, entertainment for thewhole family, not as common in britain (less well endowed grapghically, easy to play though)

xbox 360 - better console all round, but more expensive, well settled in the market, looks better. i'm conserned about the strong learning curve, and more difficult buttons (always been a sony sort of guy)

xbox 360 elite - same again but because it's more expensive, is it worth the money

PS3 - the price just puts me off and the lack of games too, the psp connection may become us.

the way i'll chose is through the capability of the consoleand the current and future games availible so everyone please help me out here with some detailed answers

thanks

It is all up to what type of game you want to play the most. Visit gamespot.com and look around for the game you like to play the most first. You might just end up buying a DS or PC.

If you are into preparing a High definition entertainment system such as playing HD movies, then you will have to account for the blu-ray or HD DVD format.

I personally suggest going for xbox 360 since you can get on to xbox live to download game demos and free arcade games for trying out the game before you buy full version. Playing online is easier and a lot more fun with xbox live.

Xbox live gives one month free for new console purchase and all thedemos you downloaded will still playable offline.

my advice is: compare current and near future libraries first, factor in movie playability second, and then factor in your budget.

best library, IMO, is the 360. if you can afford online gaming, then definitely go with the 360. it's the next best thing to PC gaming.

most fun is the Wii hands down. i love the backwards compability, and the motion controls when they're done properly.

ps3 has the most potential based on how the ps2 dominated. blu-ray is also a slightly better looking dvd capability. i think developers have yet to really even try to push the hardware. if you can afford to buy it during a semi-drought, i'm sure you'll be rewarded later.
