1.CPU- Good

2.Ram- Decent ( Would suggest 4GB's)

3.Videocard- Decent (I would suggest something a bit faster as the 9800GT is just a rebadged 8800GT)

For a midrange build your current setup is a 6 out of 10. If you had a lower end CPU I would honestly look at your rig as a low end budget computer. Add more ram and something along the lines of a nVidia 260 GTX or a Radeon 4870 and I'd bump it up to a 9 out of 10 for a midrange build.

Of course this computer as it stands right now could be perfect for you depending on what kind of games you like to play so dont take my judgment too seriously.

Hey thanks I was into gaming 3 years back and now im planning a comeback. Ill be playing all the latest games available as i used to do back then. I am going for 9800 GT as it falls under my budget too (around $110), if there is any other card with better power in the same range please suggest...i believe the cards you mentioned are quite expensive..is it? I'll surely be including 2 GB ram more :)

I would suggest getting a Radeon 4850 over a 9800 GT. You can get them for $110 or less at newegg and they are a good deal more powerful then the 9800 GT (roughly 50%-75% more).

Its a tad on the lame side. 9800GT is old these days, as karasill said, a 4850 or better would be good. Also, 19" LCD - bit small, but I guess if your on a tight budget then going for a smaller LCD is reasonable. Finally 2GB DDR3, you should settle for 3/4GB ideally. Of course, if you're getting a really good price for this thing, then that could justify ignoring everything I said.

CPU - Good. HDD - Is good for just gaming. RAM - I would suggest 4 GB, ( You didn't say what OS you get, or will get on your system? Because if your just getting XP Then there is no point in getting any more than 3GB RAM on a 32bit OS unless your getting a 64, Vista, or Win7 I would get 4GB but you can always add more after. ) GPU - Is good, What games are you playing, That Card should run Most games if not all on different settings. Monitor - 19" Not really that big, i use a 24" which is okay, but Monitors always come down as personal choice! But i rate the rig you have listed 7/10.

Can't really rate on 1-10 scale. 10 could be a 4 X GTX 480 dual Intel XEON oc'd to 5ghz liquid cooled PC and 1 could be an IBM 1981 home PC. XD Anyways, I would have gone for something more powerful (4 gigs ram, atleast a 22 inch monitor and maybe an HD 5770) wouldn't cost that much more
